Gameplay - The gameplay in my view is fast paced in terms of your general swordplay at times just taping x will do the trick but some enemies require you to use the square button but what really kicks up the combat in general is - the game's use of allowing you to throw objects at an enemy, blow them up via the gunpowder barrels which you can also grab and throw at them, Throw fire grog (jack) or Axes (will - Elizabeth), Jump kicking them, Locking blades with an enemy (meaning when you and a enemy swords are somewhat lock together and both of you are Pushing via swords to slash one another), kicking them were it hurts ( in a man's more sensitive Area), the use of cannons to blast on coming enemies out of their boats or blowing up a fort and other use's and using ( use it wisely) flaming sword which give you extra damage and a special move the kill all enemy via a fire wave this ability last about 30 second and you can use it like once every one I think. The RPG elements in the game are fine and give the game a boost, such RPG elements example Opening a Gate by First grabbing it (Circle) then rolling the left analog stick to open the gate and blowing up barricade’s or wall to gain passage, there are many more which all give the game a more funner and a more full feel. The boss fights are fun and sometimes hard and at times need a bit of thinking .The upgrades and combo's you can buy via the gold and treasure chests you find in levels are helpful and add more depth to the game. The two sword upgrades which are hidden in two levels which increase the swords damage, the sword Upgrades are new swords which are stronger. Overall the gameplay is a lot and a lot of fun.
Graphics - The Graphics are extremely good with Jack Sparrow at the helm of it due to the great Facial likeness to Johnny Depp the overall jack appearance. Will Turner who has an excellent likeness to Orlando Bloom and an excellent character appearance and the odd one of the three Elizabeth Swan who has no likeness to Kira Knightly what so ever and I mean nothing but the character model is fine. The enemy character models are excellent to, including the really cool moonlight effect of the peal pirates that when they pass though a moonlit area they turn to skeletons then once out they are back to normal. The Environment is Terrific apart slightly from the water but still Terrific.
Sound - The weakest point of the game. The Voice acting in the game is quite good especially with Johnny depp which enriches Jacks story even more, while the voice acting for Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan are just not nice to hear if your a Pirates Of The Caribbean Fan as they have no resemble at all to that of Orlando Bloom and Kira Knightly while the enemy and other characters voices are well done. The music is ok but if it was the Hans Zimmer’s Pirates of the Caribbean music it would have really ruled and would have made a big difference but, music is still fine.
Value - The game itself took me about 11 hours to complete and that not including the levels I had to revisit to collect all the hidden map pieces to unlock special content. The game has some replay value it has great Multiplayer, Map pieces that you may have miss in levels which means u must play the levels again and find them in order to fully complete the game and unlock hidden content.
The is a great game which I recommend to any Pirates of the Caribbean fan who enjoyed the films and is looking for a bit more of Jack Sparrow. If you are not a Pirates Of The Caribbean fan then u should at lest give this game a rent t is more then worth the rental fee cause this game RULES. Yet if this game had at least another 5 months in development this game could have easily been a perfect game. But it still is a true gem and don't Believe the bad reviews about this game!!!! As I think the some game critics have become way to critical about games and are forgetting about the fun that there are in some games. So if you love Hack and Slash game's like return of the king Spartan Total Warrior this game is for you especially if you are a Pirates of the Caribbean Fan.
