After you use this chat program it becomes hard to picture the DS without it.

When Pokemon Leaf Green/ Fire Red came out fot the GBA with the wireless adapter, my brother and I ran out to get it. I thought it would be cool to "chat" with someone on the GBA. Little did I know the message length was only allowed to be one line, the adapters didn't have good signal strength and typing with the D-pad would be hard. So, when I heard about the DS and PictoChat I couldn't believe how easy chatting would be. PictoChat comes pre-loaded on every DS and is simple to use. Just select PictoChat from the DS menu and wait for other members to join you. You can type or draw on the bottom screen and your messages are displayed on the top. The program has english letters, japanese, foreign letters and little pictures. It couldn't be easier. There is a down side though. Your text and drawings are limited to being black, as there are no color options. Also, you must be within about 35 feet from someone . Still this free* program enhances the DS experience.
