Only worth playing in a big city on the streets.

User Rating: 6.6 | PictoChat DS
The idea of PictoChat was innovative and exciting, but hardly valuable at all. It reaches poor distances and therefor is only good for city streets, and the mall parking lot. I guess it would be nice if you actually had someone to talk to, but you don't most of the time. Another good part of PictoChat is the Picto part. You can draw sleek pictures very easily and drag letters and symbols onto them from the keyboard. There really isn't that much to say about PictoChat, it would be a whole lot better if it could larger distances, that's for sure. One thing I didn't understand about it was the user info. When you start up a new DS, it asks for a user name and user info. You can see your user info in PictoChat by tapping your name, but you cannot see anyone else's. Alot of magazines hyped it up to be a lot better when reviewing the DS. They said stuff like, "Chat with you French friends!", and, "Meet Japanese players!" They had you believe that it was online or something similar. Bringing all of that together for the bottom line, PictoChat was hastily constructed and was not a very detailed project, and it isn't a great communication device as it was thought to have been. I give PictoChat for the Nintendo DS a 6.6 out of 10.
