Phase is a pretty brilliant idea. You use the songs on your iPod in a music game where notes scroll down the screen like Guitar Hero, and you have to hit the corresponding buttons in time with the music. As cool as the concept is, it isn't executed very well for two big reasons. The first reason is that the game freezes for a split second very often, and in a rhythm game that is one of the most unacceptable things, because you have to hit things in time with music, and when the screen stops, even for a split second, your chances of finishing the song can be brought to ruin very quickly. The second big flaw in the game is in the controls; they aren't as responsive as they need to be. They are a bit unreliable, and this also has a little bit to do with the screen freezes. These two problems together can often ruin any chance you thought you had of beating a song, even if you KNOW that it's too easy for you on the difficulty you chose. Aside from these issues you have a good game, with a cool cartoonish visual design and the ability to use any song in your iTunes library. If not for those two big issues, the game would give endless fun, but since they are present, the game isn't really worth playing.
