It's highly immersive and addicting though it has serious drawbacks... Let me elaborate.

I will only be giving a short review for this game. I think it's absolutely necessary for me to vent out. To start it off, I just finished the main storyline in about 14 hours... That's not four zero... You heard it right, 14 hours. True, it is indeed innovative that the game has three races to choose from, you can go on NIntendo WFC and team up with four other players and have the ability to take whatever item your other character has in the joint trunk (you can have 3 characters in the game card). But isn't it an RPG game first and foremost? Some of you might say that the end is really not the end since you can still take on quests and even try your skills on hard mode. The problem is that an RPG is an RPG and absolutely needs a good and lengthy storyline.

Another thing: the action palette. Why didn't they just make FOUR action palette slots for each screen so you don't have to go the item list every once in a while to revive or heal a character? Doesn't the DS have FOUR main buttons on the right??? It could have been better if the X button was used for the game.

That's about it. I'm not saying the game's not good. It is. They should have at least done something to make me play longer and get my money's worth back.
