For fans of PSO, but not PSU, we have PS0 (people like me)

User Rating: 9.5 | Phantasy Star Zero DS
Quite the happy medium. Any of you out there that were completely addicted to PSO but never found PSU to contain the same charm, this game is really good, keeping true to the original, but not without it's own merits.

I expected a pretty good game, and I got more than I expected. waiting almost a year since it came out in Japan to come out in America, it was well worth the wait.

Gameplay is balanced, playing it right it never feels too easy or too hard (even though, playing as a force, the first boss or so can be a real doozy)

Customization is about the only part of this that I find lackluster in comparison to stellar PSO and, as much as I hate it, PSU's pretty great system. Limited options, but they all look pretty good.

The action is as smooth as ever, with little lag, and custom animations for each weapon. The movement doesn't ever feel off, timing works still, weapons swing smoothly, arts animate well.

For the DS you can't expect too much, but the game looks pretty good, and for a game that's packed with this much (14 classes, 350+ weapons, a bunch of maps and bosses, as well as enemies. AND online play) I'm amazed there was really any room for any of this.

Mags are back. With the same function as PSO.

my only real complaint is simply that the level cap, being half PSO, feels a little too quick and easy to get to, but for fans of the series, especially the original PSO, and newcomers alike I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I just know, I personally was watching the clock tick waiting to buy this and I was still quite impressed.
