A seizure-inducing romp thru Technicolor Land >>IN STEREO

This was a good title to showcase the macho muscle that was under the hood of the DreamCast when it launched.

The frame rates are seldom faulting, the colors will send you on an acid trip sans the acid, and the sounds & tunes are also quite vibrant and bouncy as well. That disclaimer that says you shouldn't play games if you have epilepsy - well, this is the game they're talking about. You should warn visitors in the room before firing up this puppy [I'm not kidding].

The controls are fairly tight although negotiating some areas can be tricky depending on what it is you're doing at that time [walking, swimming or sliding on your belly - how's that for a new twist in a racing game?!] but it's no deal-breaker and you can usually master the controls in a short amount of time.

The game is best played in spurts, say when you're busting out the "party games". Fifteen or twenty minutes of this game can wear you down with all the commotion that is the flurry of colors on screen and the springy soundtrack, making the experience a paradox - an intense amount of fun at first, generating a mental high, followed by the overexposure to it all which then numbs you, causing a mental crash.

Still, a keeper title if you have a DreamCast.

In no way do I condone abuse of illegal drugs, nor have I done them, but this game would probably really mess up someone that did imbibe thusly [or were epileptic] and then attempt to play this game. It's that visually and aurically extreme.
