On tour in the States since early May, the Brit band, Steadman, has added one final date on to its 30-plus city tour. The band will play an exclusive concert for There subscribers later this week. Little information has been given to There gamers on how to acquire tickets, but a small notice appeared recently on the There top page announcing the live event.

A There source told GameSpot today that the band would be serenading There staffers in the company's Menlo Park, California, home office and that There gamers will be able to access the audio portion of the event--which will be streamed to various in-game locations. As in the real world, gamers will first have to acquire tickets, with the best ones permitting gamers to view the band (in pixilated form, that is) as they play, while others will be able to see and/or hear the event from There bars and other in-game locations.

There launched a "limited-access" release in late-October and expects to upgrade to a full launch in early 2004.

How did a Bay Area virtual world game publisher hook up with the band? Evidently, one of the band's lead members is a There subscriber--and huge fan. A conversation was initiated by the band, and it ultimately lead to the concert event.

The concert is scheduled for November 16, with additional details on how to get tickets upcoming from There's Web site.
