Following last week's news that the first Jedi players have emerged in the Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided universe, Sony Online Entertainment announced that it has implemented some new features over the weekend. The first new addition is a player city system, which allows players who build houses or other structures near each other to incorporate them into a player city through a city hall. Cities in the game will comprise both civic and commercial structures, including banks, cloning facilities, gardens, shuttleports, mission terminals, cantinas, hospitals, and theaters.

Also introduced over the weekend was the ability for creature handlers to tame certain creatures as mounts that players can ride on. There are currently six species of creature that can be ridden, including dewback, brackaset, bol, carrion spat, falumpaset, and kaadu.
