Comments

There are a few new faces on the latest PC sales chart from NPD, which dates from the week that Rise of Nations and PlanetSide were released. Both of these high-profile games make an appearance on the chart in their first week, bumping off a few of the familiar names, including EA's best-selling Command & Conquer: Generals, which was solidly in sixth position the previous week. Two steady sellers have also jumped back into the top-10 spotlight: Sim City 4 and Warcraft III.

Best-selling PC games for the week of May 18-24, 2003:

Rank / Title / Publisher / Average Price
1 / The Sims: Superstar / EA / $30
2 / Grand Theft Auto: Vice City / Rockstar / $41
3 / Rise of Nations / Microsoft / $49
4 / Enter the Matrix / Atari / $44
5 / PlanetSide / Sony Online / $48
6 / The Sims Deluxe / EA / $44
7 / Sim City 4 / EA / $39
8 / RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Wacky Worlds / Atari / $23
9 / The Sims: Unleashed / EA / $29
10 / Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos / Vivendi Universal / $36
