I loved Pat II and III. How the hell does a developer spend money on a sequel to a strong and established franchise and make is worse ?

Patrician IV is a weaker, simpler, smaller and clumsier version of Patrician III.

Where is the bank ? The building of the towns ? All of this seems to have been replaced by increased pirate activity and "pirate hideouts".

Out of league trade is now limited to 1 stop - and I still have not figured out how sales and purchases for trading missions work.

Yes its pretty - but Patrician was never about pretty, it was about trade and building and ships and loans.

The prince / king appears to siege at random, you cant buy off sieges, and town finances are weird (gate towers cost to maintain but dont appear to actually do anything).

I dont think this can be fixed with patches, but will wait and see.

Disappointed.
