So that's why every game sites rate Patapon very high.. IT DESERVES IT. I just started playing Patapon 2 just this week and I must say I totally regret playing it just now when patapon 3 is already out. Well anyway, this game is totally addicting. I thought i read somewhere that this is an RPG - strategy game, well I can say its more of a very well mixed up genre of games. no button smashing. no hard pounding action. but it requires deep strategy and control skills. It also requires some skills of anticipation and concentration as the game is very much continuous. A sudden look on the TV while on the middle of beating a Centura (Spider-like boss) will cause your patapons to trip over and cut the momentum where you have to again get "fever" to be able to call the rain miracle, and if you don't you won't see the Centure. (If you cannot relate to these things then play it. I recommend it).
Well I must say that there are some things that are frustrating, like it is quite hard to get the materials to evolve your patapons, or the boss walking back and forth like crazy that you cannot charge and causes you to lose that precious material he dropped at the long distance. But the hell! it is a game, patience is a must. And when a player is frustrated in getting rare materials, it means he is deep in the game.
Well there you have it, I guess its a little too late to review Patapon 2. but who cares. I'm just glad I am one of the enlightened gamer to realize that not every game that graphically looks childish plays childish.
