Pro's:
Line of sight - with the "1.12" patch installed. (make sure you install it if you buy this because it's very important patch and adds an scenario editor!)
Time Adjustment (eg. 1X, 2X, etc.) -this feature was not in CM missions I believe?
Hit calculation - if you have it out with two tanks and hit the em tank in the front it won't do as much damage as hitting it from the side or in the rear.
Immersive sound and atmosphere - like I stated above, you hear machine gun fire and see tracers jetting back and forth, explosions rocking the ground and screams and cries from wounded and soldiers who panic!
Con's:
No weather - only visibility in modeled in which is a fare cry from CM weather system. Maybe in a patch/
Depth - this is were PC differs the most from CM games. There is not as much depth here with the game taking place only in a small area around Stalingrad and not the entire Russian Front.
Replay Value - After you play through the scenarios a few time you will get bored quick but with the included scenario editor in the 1.12 patch you are bound to play a few more time.
Lack of playable era Vehicles: You can choose historic core vehicles in only what the scenario deals to you and even in the editor you can only use the Vehicles that the game uses which makes for limited game play.
Overall: PC Operation Winter Storm is a great addition to the Turn Based War Game genre and in general a fun game to play. If you liked CM especially Bar. to Berlin version then you will be at home with this title. Even is you are new to these kind of games, PC OWS is far more user friendly and easier to play than it's big brother CM Bar. to Berlin was.
