Overturn is addictive, insanely fun, cheap, and just plain fun for all gamers.
The graphics are decent enough for a wiiware title, resembling Gamecube graphics. The music is simple battle music, nothing special. But the gameplay is what makes the game so great!
In single-player mode, you fight in tournaments of CPU controlled robots one at a time until you win. The AI doesn't get too hard until the last couple of tournaments where you are going to want to experiment with different weapons and strategies in training mode.
The multiplayer is fantastic and really makes the game standout above other fighting games. Offline, you can have up to two players, each with a nunchuck, fighting split screen which makes the game pretty difficult so you would want Wi-Fi connection so you can play online multiplayer.
On Wi-Fi you can choose to fight a friend you've exchanged friend codes with, or random players. When fighting random players you can choose to fight one other player in a one-on-one battle and the winner gains points similar to that of Mario Kart. Alternately, you can fight three other players in a battle royal where you try to get the most kills. With good connection you get almost no lag.
Overturn's customization features also make it stand out past other fighting games. You can choose the color to each part of your robot from what seems like an infinite pallet of all shades. You can also unlock weapons in single-player mode which you can then choose from for each arm on your robot.
Overturn is a must buy for any fan of fighting games. Its customization and incredible online multiplayer make it almost shocking that it is only $8.00 in the USA. If you can get your hands on $8.00, there is nothing better out there to buy than this.
