Some of the other reviews suggest this game is just like the orginal OutRun but that's not quite true. Its better than the original. The power-slides are even more exagerated and fun to pull off. You can steer the car while in a power slide to an amusing and ridiculous degree. The gameplay benefits from this greatly exagerated power-sliding. It doesn't feel like every other arcade racer out there (like the excellent Burnout 2 and 3). OutRun 2 also has truly excellent graphics and sounds. The courses are short so the game designers really packed in hi-res detail. With HDTV mode, the graphics are truly impressive . The controls are resonsive and the framerate never falters even when there is a lot of traffic on the roads. Faults? The game is short, even with the skill-based missions. The tracks are short (you can play then in reversed mode at least). The mission mode is great but it is also quite hard. The original OutRun is included as a bonus that you can earn. The graphics are so pixilated I'm not sure many will enjoy playing it but who knows. The graphics in Outrun2 are much better than those in Burnout 3. OutRun2 was designed as an exclusive for that XBOX, and it looks great. If you like arcade racers you can find this for under 20 bucks now.
