My girlfriend is cheering! The sun in shining! My car is gleaming! My life is arcade!

User Rating: 8.5 | OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast PS2
To celebrate the release of Gamespot UK, I am writing a review of a game that came to Europe first and America later. I hope you enjoy this review and once you finished, please explore the 'PEGI' rating. From the Wikipedia. The official website. Anyway. Okay, let's start.

Outrun: Coast 2 Coast is a brilliant game with such a great girl. It's basicly because of its smooth, unrealistic handling. The powerslides/drifts are superb, but the thing it's lacking is the 'powerslide' button: there are only 'brake' and 'powerbrake' buttons, but that's got to do nothing to a perfect drift around a corner.
Y'see, the graphics are absolutly shiny, and there is no sight of frame rate problems, but the character designs really don't make up to the finish line. They look to thin, perhaps. There is lots of value, with good heart attack modes. You may have too easily notised that Outrun: Coast 2 Coast uses levels from the previous games: Outrun 2 and Outrun 2 SP (in my opinion, the best arcade game created). they do look sillier to their original versions, but you can't have everything.

The sound and music is great. You have got some amazing songs, and the special 'efex' are spot on. You'll never find a bad: or even average: song in the list. And man, this game is so furious, adding to the '2 Fast 2 Watch' list with speedy games such as Burnout and the oh-my-god-700-mph-car-racer Trackmania. You're girlfriend looks serious aswell.

Oh dear, she's dead! Thankfully it's only the beautifully car, not the girl.
[Laughs so hard]

Oh, and anyway, the verdict is:

Pros:
- Ooooh.... shiny....
- Amazing music
- Online mode
Cons
- Strange handling
- Tracks are ropier than original versions
- Thin character designs

This game is absolutly wonderful, but you won't expect any realism. Still, it's great, but denied a 9.0 or over.
