Great arcade game compilation. Don't be put off it's brilliant especially with a steeing wheel!
A key accessory to make the Outrun experience complete is a steering wheel. It makes you feel as though you were in the arcade actually racing. It becomes far more intense and challenging too otherwise wiggling an analogue stick left to right becomes far too easy and boring.
Grapihcs are good but nothing special. The cars are detailed and glossy and have reflections rushing over them when driving through the stages. Not much else to talk about really but the graphics are not hideously annoying so thats all good.
Sound is very poor in my standards. All the Ferraris sound the same and when you drive past an opponent the same vroom noise is sounded every time. Also the music is annoying because it is so cheesy. You can put your own soundtracks on but personally I turn the TV down and turn on my MP3 player.
So Outrun 2006 will appeal to some and not to others so it's a marmite game. To have real fun you need a steering wheel too. So if you like arcade racers rent Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast and possibly buy it.
