A very nice and beautiful game, focused in combat tactics and not building

User Rating: 8.5 | Order of War PC
First of all, all I want to focus in, is the gameplay and how the game actually
flows. Order of war is based on a flag domination system, in which the more flags
you have under your control, the more resources you get. Resources are spent
in calling in more reinforcements of various units and/or off-map support. i read
many people in here that wrote, that the ame itself is not actually based in tactics,
but who has the most powerfull units. Which is wrong.

Think of a real life battle. A side that has much more firepower has an advantage to
the opposite side. But the game is not based entirely in this. Since you cannot build
bases and generally structures, battle tactics play the biggest role in the game.
Tactics like encirclements and learning how to use your unit's advantages and how to cover
their disadvantages with different tactics is what really made me love this game.

At the beggining, you may get the feeling that the camera is a little hard to control while
focusing on the battle, but this feeling quickly goes away as you play for a few hours and
you get used ot it. Order of war features 3 sides, Germany, USA and Russia, each of its own
highly detailed units and historically accurate.

As stated before, you can execute real-life military tactics in order to win the battles.
You can barrage the enemy with artillery and then launch a fierce offense with armor and infantry,
trying to come as close as you can get with the infantry to take out enemy tanks or anti-tank cannons
and mortars. Be aware though, because in a large battle infantry van really easy and quick be pinned
down and brought to a really difficult situation. You must calculate how fast units are, how accurate
or how much the range of their main guns are, before making an asssault. Things can go much more complicated.

Players which like building bases and having a "base war" or a "structure war" in which whoever builds
more, faster and better alligned structures may not fancy this game a lot. On the other hand people who like
more battle strategies and combat tactics will deffinitely like this game.

I say you give it a try, I dont actually think you may get dissapointed, especially if you are a "battle tactics"
player as mentioned before. The game has very good graphics, audio is nice and the atmosphere is very good.
All in all, Order of war is not the best game you can find but its definitely a very nice add to your collection
and its a detailed game. Definitely worths the money though.
