Kept waiting for it to get better...

I'd waited a long time for this game, as it always filled a niche of a more realistic experience in FPS/wargaming. Unfortunately, not enough had improved from the last edition to hold my interest. I got a fair way through the single player campaign, where it continuously went from cutscene/debriefs to long boring rants from your top Sergeant (or whatever the heck he is) that you cannot skip past (and believe me, after the first few you get the point and will want to skip him) to an engagement.
The engagements themselves are repetitive also. Find the bad guys, and shoot em up. Move on. Rinse/repeat. The only mission that stood out differently at all was a night mission, that went exactly like the others you perform during the day. I don't worship at the alter of CoD, but you have to hand it to the series for being able to provide a cinematic and engaging experience, whereas OF: RR does nothing of the sort.
The multiplayer was a severe disappointment, as it offered co-op only and no PvP whatsoever. I can't imagine why they didn't at least include this option? The best part of the co-op however, is that they approached it in Borderlands style 'drop in/drop out', which is the preferred method of co-op I think, as it is convenient.
As for any sort of customization, forget it. You get four classes and as you advance levels with each, you can swap a limited number of unlocked weapons for each. Again, it's not bad, but it's been done in so many other games and better, at that.
The visuals are very good. I'd say top notch but I just got done playing LA Noire, who's cream of the crop right now with it's advances with facial/voice matchup, whereas OF: RR is still behind in this area when you watch the characters speak. Weapons, vehicles and terrain looks great though.
The worst part is the vocals however, during battle. Squads and individuals continually burp out the same commands and exclamations again and again, with little to no variation. It gets so bad at times, I had to turn the sound down because I was sick of hearing them carry on like a bunch of parrots. The best part of the sound were the weapon/vehicle effects and music.
I get what they were going for, but it's just not giving me any reason to continue it.
