Well, this is real gem. It is long, interesting, tense... excellent. Best in series. Top five in Capcom.
I'd recommend it to anyone who loves the genre, and although you'd miss some parts of the story if you did'nt play the first game, (and second, although not that much) it is not important to comprehend what is going on.
An absolutely stunning game that offers hours of entertainment and pleasure. The series has always been very good but with this installment they have raised the bar. We now have 3D graphics and true analogue controls which really improve the overall feel and game play. Menu is faster, new thing with vests and Ako is great, Jean Reno (Jacques) is great thing - two players, twice fun! Whips and swords and genmas, oh my!:)
Onimusha 3 is truly a work of art, it combines puzzle-solving with intense action relying on split second timing LITERALLY. (you will see some extraordinary counter attacks with this features) The graphics are very impressive for PS2 of that time.
Voice acting and camera (sometimes it is not very helpful) are maybe little depleted - Jean Reno is great, but he doesn't speaks on English, only in french at the beginning and the end - to bad.
Maps are great (I adored Zoo with Michelle!:):))) - you have three playable characters and they are Samanosuke, Jacques Blanc and his girlfriend Michelle.
There is lots and lots of things to do and secrets to unlock, some features (perhaps because of Paris and guns ;-)) reminds more than ever to RE2 and 3, atmospheric, great...
Always go to dark realm! (to bad that we don't get those ultimate whip and Bishamon sword earlier... :):)
The story is also very good and features time travel and characters to switch between this keeps the game fresh and challenging, as i said.
