Worth the money and the wait!

User Rating: 8.3 | Nintendo DS Web Browser DS
I currently have the UK version of the NDS Lite browser, and i have to say that its a great little tool to have.

i never thought that i would be able to surf the web on my DS anywhere i go, but it has become quite useful. although its not as fast as other gizmos out there (for example PDAs and blackberry cell phones), but it gets the job done. the dual screen feature helps organize it a bit so it doesnt get too messy and the use of the stylus and touch screen does a good job of imitating a mini keyboard.

only drawback is, the touch screen keyboard does get annoying at times and the browser is quite slow. remember back when everyone used to have AOL connected to their phonelines? its very similar to that. you can use three major instant messengers (AIM, Yahoo, and MSN), but again, its not as quite as it is on the computer or laptop.

of course, you cant ask for the best of everything, considering it costed me 50 dollars compared to other portable browsers out there, this would be a bargain. if you want your internet browser to be quick and easy to use, youre better off with a Sony Mylo or the like. but that'll rip $350 dollars right out of your pocket.

here's a little guideline of what you can and cannot do on the DS:

1. AIM, MSN, Yahoo messengers all work.
2. Sorry, you cannot download anything.
3. No videos, java, etc will even show up on the browser. (so even if you wanna do porn, yes you can go on the website, but no videos will load.
4. Pics like jpeg and gif will load, but thats about it.
5. its $50 bucks at Play-Asia.com. order via credit card/bank card. it'll come in 3-5 days if in stock. (yes it is currently in stock on the website).
6. .As stated before, you can just use the icons/images to scroll through. very similar to the ones on Internet explorer, Firefox, etc..
7. you can comment and look at pics on Myspace, but videos wont load.
8. it is worth buying if you dont want to wait for the US version, which will probably hit here around early 2007. 9. there is much lag (as expected), its about as slow as 56K, if not slower.
10. is it worth paying 50 bucks for? it actually is. for what it can do, its definitly worth paying that much. if you can afford games on the DS, why not grab this for 20 bucks more? its not bad to have around.
11. No you will not need the nintengo USB wifi connector.
12. you will need to be in a Wifi range area. so try to look for a hotspot. places like Starbucks, most Cafes, Mickey D's, Dunkin Donuts, Barnes and Nobles, Borders, most bookstores, libraries, schools/universities.. Or even at home if you have a wireless router setup.

hope this review helps.
