Take a good franchise and "Onimusha" it.

User Rating: 6.5 | Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3
If you haven't figured it out from the review deck above, I don't like Onimusha that much. I didn't like Devil May Cry, either. That kind of game where you're fighting the same enemies with a limited set of moves and have to be perfect to beat them and survive is not for me. My idea of fun is not to do a 400+ combo on a single enemy or group; that's why programmers invented bosses. And having 3-4 bosses in a game that lasts more than 20 hours is insulting, especially when you have to beat them 2-3 times in different levels. That's why I was disappointed with Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I played AND finished the first two games for the NES, and let me tell you, those were hard. But using the same Capcom formula of Onimusha to this franchise was a kick in the balls for me. I'll be honest: I haven't finished the game. Having to go through all that pain of surviving a few enemies to get a D rating is not my cup of tea. The weapons I've unlocked until now have not given me a feeling of variety, and the story and presentation of it is laughable, like the rest of these types of games. Just an excuse to set up the players in a world of hurt. Maybe one day I'll finally pick it up again and finish it. For now, I'll just keep it on my "to do" list and procrastinate. there are better games to play right now.
