An interesting twist to the Ninja Gaiden series

First off before you think that this is a sequel to the NES games, it isn't. Natsume orginally programed this game to be a shadow of the ninja handheld game. Then Tecmo bought the rights to the game, changed it around and called it Ninja Gaiden "Shadow".

There are many differences, such as a lack of climbing abilites and a much shorter life bar. Also, you only have the ability to use one magic ninja art. A new item, however is a hook that lets Ryu climb up certain ceilings. I think that it would've been cool to add to the NES games after that point.

Graphics: First dissapointment in this department is the lack of cut scenes between levels....you just beat the level and see a non animated picture of Ryu cutting up the boss. Other than this the graphcs are about like Ninja Gaiden I. Not too bad actually....espically for gameboy.

Music and sound: Pretty good, there are some good sounds, like the swing of Ryu's sword. Some music is pretty hummable as well, but don't compare to the NES games.

Fun: Having a portable Ninja Gaiden is awsome. It is a pretty good game for a family vacation trip.

Overall: I'd reccomend it. If you can find the game buy it.
