very under rated JRPG with a fascinating story! worth any fan of the genres time.

I have to agree with what a lot of people are saying about the first half of the game being boring and it is. very dull first half of the game but the moments leading up to when Kaine is turned to stone till the end of the game is fantastic and unpredictable. the music compliments each section of the game perfectly. Cavia successfully blends elements of many different genres. boss battles give off a great cinematic vibe and are just really awesome. yes, the voice acting can be a bit awkward at times but pretty decent for the most part. I really like the Drakengard connection, very cool.

so heres my pros and cons, kinda:

good:

easy to get into and fun combat
well told and fascinating story
excellent and dynamic music score
very decent visual design

and bad:

while combat is easy and fun it gets repetitive FAST
character progression falls flat
first half of the game is boring and uninteresting
