One of the best hockey games.

This is definitely one of the top NHL games. With great game play and only 26 teams (no stupid extra 4 random teams). The graphics aren't good, but its Genesis what do you expect. Some of the teams are unstoppable but each one has its flaws, which is good. Philly has the power and you cant knock them over. But you can watch them sit in the penalty box too. Pittsburgh has speedy offense and good scoring but their goalie lets in a lot. So playing with a friend is fun because when they think they have the best team you can stop them.

Create-a-Player in this game is pretty good. But you can make the players a little too good. Not full 99's but up there. I believe you can create up to 20-25 players. The Trade system is good for trying to make the teams more up to date. Because they never decline the trades, unless it breaks the roster limits. But it’s also bad for those of you that are cheaters out there :).

The season mode is great. With pretty good stats and League Leaders it makes trying to be the best fun. Although a lot of the time some players get like 100 goals and stuff. The only way to compete in the stats is to play 10 minute or more periods. The playoffs are fun to play once you get there. Plus winning the Cup is a little treat with the on cup giving :).

All in all this is a great game. I really wish NHL games were as good as this one was. Someone make a Retro NHL game pack!
