My first 2K NHL experience...

User Rating: 8.8 | NHL 2K3 GC
When I got fed up with EA Sports NHL 2004 in that same year, I started hunting for a proper hockey game.

So, after going through various electronic shops, I found a used copy of NHL 2K3.

Well...
Let me tell you....I was impressed from the very first moment I started up the game.

The menu was a bit ockward to get use to, since I was familiar with EA's style of menus. But, after a few minutes of fiddling around, I started to find my ways.

I immediately passed on from menu to menu, directly to the create-a-player side. I was set up to make my own superstar.

After creating my newly "born" NHL superstar - I started up an exhibition game.

Oh boy.... NHL 2K3 came as a breath of fresh air compared to the rigid NHL 2004. Controls felt so natural - passing the puck, shooting, hitting....everything was right there...so easy to do...

And it didn't take long for me to master the game, so I had to top it a notch - Changed the difficulty to Hall Of Fame after one hour of playing.

The only thing that bugged me with NHL 2K3 was that players got injured really easy on my team, but never that easily on the opposing teams.
I had to stack up with a full roster just to get through a simple season.
Lots of garbage players, but they served their purpose.

What im trying to say is that, graphics wise, NHL 2K3 didn't have much to show for, but, with easy gameplay and very good flow in the game made it an experience I wont forget.

Graphics: Not the best, but it works.
Sound: The menu music is rather boring and depressing, but sounds are ok.
Gameplay: Perfect! 2K knows how to make hockey FEEL like hockey. And the hitting (which I LOVE) is great!
Value: I played the season mode through 10-20 times in a row. It explains pretty much what kind of value this game has...
Tilt: Awesome hockey game - that's all I can say.

Summary:
A glitch-free, freeze-free, perfect hitting, greatly flowing hockey game I recommend to all who haven't tried yet.
