Tekken Hybrid Extreme Edition for the PS3 to feature HD version of PS2 tag fighter, Mad Catz Tournament Edition FightStick, and more; limited to 1,000 copies.
Namco is pulling out all the stops for its latest Tekken package. Coming in at $250, the Tekken Hybrid Extreme Edition is available for online preorder today via the clubNamco store and will land on doorsteps alongside the stand-alone PS3 game on November 22. This package is available only while supplies last of the limited 1,000-unit production run.
Tekken Hybrid's standard package includes Tekken Tag Tournament HD, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue, and the CG feature Tekken: Blood Vengeance. The Extreme Edition adds a two-disc soundtrack, an art book, Tekken-themed PSN Home costumes and accessories, and an all-black Tekken Hybrid-specific Namco Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition 'S' made by Mad Catz.
The eight-button FightStick is individually numbered and built with a "genuine arcade layout" using authentic Sanwa Denshi components. It also features a 13-foot "lag-free" USB connection that can be wrangled in the stick's built-in storage compartment.
The announcement coincides with the relaunch of the clubNamco online store, which features Namco Bandai titles and game-related products ranging from Pac-Man plushies to Katamari T-shirts.

Nice clean looking stick. Tekken is arguably the fighter that works best with a game pad. I have a Madcatz Super Street Fighter IV TE Edition Fight Stick (that's a mouthful) and truth be told I rarely use it with any of my fighting games, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Marvel VS Capcom, Street Fighter...etc.. I'll probably use it a bit more with SFXT though. Well, I like to think I will.
pretty pricey for some old games getting rebooted. i do love me some tekken tag though. as for the fight stick (the reason this costs so much) ive never really needed one for tekken. itd come in handy for sidestepping, but other than that im fine with my trusty dualshock.
Should have just been a first run bonus, they would have gotten more than enough preorders to make up for the cost of the joypad.
@FLOWZMENTAL Sadly enough I didn't. I thought it was for both platforms. I guess I didn't bother to read the whole article. Ooops. Thanks for the update though.
This I like a decent arcade grade joystick. I am pretty good at fighting games. So this would be something I would buy Tekken is one of my favorite fighting series. I like tekken this fighting stick will also work with Mortal Kombat and other fighting games. Tekken Hybrid is a game I'll buy and get the arcade stick. Plus arcade sticks also work with another genre I am really good at Shoot them ups. So Tekken Hybrid and this is a must buy. I love fighting games and Shoot them ups 2 genres where a good quality arcade fighting stick is a must.
I'm glad they had the sense to not make the fightstick wireless again. That would be a terrible idea for the hard-core tournament players they are reaching out to with this bundle.
For any serious Tekken player such as myself this is a must. I just can't justify paying 250 dollars for another fight stick when I already have the Limited Edition MK one.
Hmm get a big plastic arcade replica and a preview of Tag 2, a Preview among other things! For the same price as a game system itself. Uhh pass.
WOA! This sounds like "Get a PS3 and an extra joystick + a game for the price of... 2 PS3s!!!" What a deal!
TE series 2 stick = amazing stick, which is what that looks exactly like. The flat black with the Namco name on the side looks really sharp. Great stick. You can pick up a TE 2 for much less than $250.00 but if you like all that other swag then it's a good buy. That is a quality stick that even the best players would be more than happy with.
Okay...enough is enough! When the collectors edition costs as much as the system you're buying it for it's gone too far! God I can't believe what so called 'collectors editions' are turning into these days.
A game with a few cheap features that costs the same as an actual games machine. wot the ****s goin on here? Are there people actually planning to buy this great rip off?
I want what Namco/MadCatz is smoking. That FightStick design is nowhere near worth the price they're charging for this bundle, limited or not. You could get off cheaper by buying the $70 bundle, a generic FightStick S, and painting over everything with black paint; slap on a Namco decal on the sides and you have this FighStick for about $50-70 cheaper.
$250? The Tekken 6 stick only costs $60 with game. The Tekken 5 stick can be purchased used for $25 and it's loads better than the Tekken 6 stick. Geez...
The stick alone is at least worth it $150-180, that means that the rest of the content will be sold for about $70-100: So you'd be getting the game, the BRD-movie (CGi, not that other piece of manure), the PS2 game, 2 soundtrack CDs, 1 art book, plus the digital items that almost no one cares, (and if you do, what!? You be hangin' out around Home? Word?!). If you want a new or your first stick, this a great deal. IMO, I wonder if it is or can be dual modded relatively easily (which can cost approximately an additional extra $40).
Reminds me of my xbox Steel Battalion controller collecting dust all these years. So glad my buddy talked me into getting when he did.
They dont have take advantage of a big title release. Its only an arcade stick. This is one for the die hard fans I think.
@kingotnw Nobody spends $200+ on an arcade stick unless it's customized. Not many people have Hori VLXs which are the around that price point. Most people just opt to go with Mad Catz TE which is about $150.
$190 for a black stick that just says Namco on it? No thanks. I could just buy a TE stick and do that myself.
I love tekken but $250 for the fight stick, when i have the one i got in the tekken 6 bundle & never use (I grew up with the controller). I'll just buy the special edition for $60 & get my art book, soundtrack & psn home stuff, & then save the rest for the vita in the new year
I'd probably be buying this if I didn't already get a HITBOX which is freaking awesome and also if the stick wasn't so pricey... I'm soo looking forward to this Tekken though... I couldn't get a chance to play it at last week's South Africa's Rage expo.
They will sell out of this easy. Ultra competitive players take these games very seriously and don't blink at the thought of spending $200+ on a good arcade stick. If you think its too much, its not meant for you.
That's a nice stick but it's just too expensive. Besides Tekken is like one of the only fighting games I prefer using a gamepad with.
I have to wonder just how many of these will be bought by gamers, and how many will be bought by people who just want to resell it at a huge mark-up?
I just looked and there is a limited edition that has everything but the control, and its on ebay for 70-80 bucks. So you are basically paying close to 200 dollars for the controller.
so $50 for the game and $200 for a mad catz controller? mad catz is bunk. i wouldnt pay $20 for one of their controllers. fighters are pretty much dead in my opinion anyway.
That stick is slick, but $250 slick? I'm neither wealthy or stupid enough to pay more for a controller than I did for it's console.
Mad Catz didn't make a great first impression with me since I bought an N64 controller made by them that had a stiff control stick and suddenly stopped working shortly after I bought it. I might be willing to give them another chance now that it's been over ten years, but not with $250.
Wow......just wow....you could buy a ps3 for the same price as one of the games (even in deluxe pack)....and they wonder why they are losing money to used game sales........
I want one of these dang controllers, I just don't want to shell out the $$$ for it! A fighting game isn't a fighting game without a arcade stick. I hate the 360's D pad and these arcade sticks all seem a bit steep. I'll have to get the 250gb hard drive first, then I'll work towards getting one of these monsters. The fighting genre isn't one of my favorites anyways. My wife can beat me at them. All she does is keep pressing all sorts of buttons, in a frantic pace, while I'm trying to get my moves together, all the while I'm getting destroyed! lol
i think it's kinda cool that they have this for tekken cause it's like one of those plug in games for the T.V.
