[UPDATE] Amazon Germany outs new edition of latest Elder Scrolls game; believed to include t-shirt, copy of spinoff novel, concept art, but no DLC; Bethesda says SKU is special edition specific to Europe.
[UPDATE] Following the publication of this story, a Bethesda representative told GameSpot the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Premium Edition is a special version of the game that will be released only in Europe. It will be available in the United Kingdom, Benelux, and Germany.
The original story follows below.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may be returning to retail this holiday season. A listing on Amazon's German website (via Official Xbox Magazine) indicates Bethesda is preparing a Skyrim: Premium Edition for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC for launch in December.
According to the available product information, the Skyrim Premium Edition will include a range of collector's items, including a map of the game world, a t-shirt, a copy of the Hell City spinoff novel, and various concept art.
No mention was made of downloadable content being included with the Skyrim Premium Edition. Previously released add-ons for the role-playing game include the Dawnguard and Hearthfire expansions, both of which have seen release for Xbox 360 and PC, but not PlayStation 3.
The Skyrim Premium Edition is listed at €59.99, or about $77.
Bethesda has not made any announcements regarding a new version of Skyrim, and the publisher was not immediately available for comment at press time.
I've been holding off on getting Skyrim for Xbox until the release of a GotY edition with all DLC included. I'll eventually come, trust me. In the meantime, move along people. Nothing to see here....
Have fun waiting for nothing because it's too bad that's not going to happen. While their will be a GotY edition it won't include all DLC. If it does include all DLC it definitely won't be $60. Oblivion GotY edition didn't include all available DLC, it only had knights of the nine and shivering isles which were $10 and $30 respectively. So with Oblivion GotY edition you got a $100 value for $60. See as dawnguard and dragonborn are both $20 and hearthfire is $5. I'd say that it might include those 3 DLCs. Bethesda is sure to make more DLC (probably 2) before a GotY edition of Skyrim goes into production so it's safe to say that it won't include ALL DLC.
No. This is a horrible idea and a real slap in the face to fans. The people that would really want this bought your game a long time ago. Many paid $150 for the collectors edition. This is a little too late.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I will add they might want to iron the shirt in the pic.
That has to be the most dumb thing I've ever read. It's too bad none of those new games can hold a candle to skyrim. The only game that will match skyrim is bioshock infinite.
it makes no sense that Bethesda is releasing Skyrim Premium Edition without the current DLC and future DLC.
@thereal-15-cent Who says there's gonna be a "game of the year" edition? Unless it's titled "Buggiest Broken Unfinished Game of the Year".
@thereal-15-cent Hello PS3 owner.
I have both, but I prefer the 360. I just don't want to waste GBs and money when I can get it all on a disc later.
They made a GOTY edition for Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and an "ultimate edition" for Fallout New Vegas. Judging by history, I like the chances that they'll make a Skyrim GOTY.
there will be no DLC for Skyrim Premium Edition because Bethesda knows that PS3 users are already boycotting there games until they release DLC's for PS3..
Skyrim GOTY is also incoming at some point. I've seen Bethesda's release of Oblivions over and over, so this is no surprise.
@the_requiem Bethesda did not make Fallout New Vegas.....
@the_requiem Obsidian made New Vegas, Bethesda only published it. You should definitely play bethesda developed games or you're missing out big time.
They can have that premium omega edition [without dlc, lol]. The only way I will get anything from Bethesda again is if Dawnguard and Hearthfire are made free on the PSN. I'm skeptical of the Dragonborn dlc, of whether it would be flooded with bugs and upsets or not. After Dawnguard and Hearthfire, I'm not optimistic about any future dlc.

@buccomatic I've only ever played this game on PC haha. But I don't actually personally own a copy. So yeah, if the price is reasonable I might pick this one up
I'm not buying Skyrim for my PS3 until there is a Complete version; all bugs ironed out and all DLC included. Until then, no money for you Bethesda!
Even if it were available in US, wouldn't bother. Know they are trying to fix DLC and make it available finally to PS3... but with this, is just off putting that they obviously are not putting forth the energy in resolving it. Should be the top priority, not this.
@xMoonDevilx Agreed, but I doubt the development team working on the PS3 issues has anything to do with this. This is more the marketing department at Bethesda trying to push for more sales.
@gibbey531 @xMoonDevilx @KamuiFei I understand what you're meaning, but seriously....take even say a $5 DLC and multiply that by just 1 million ....and that's not even the total amount sold of the game on a PS3. That's $5 million. How that isn't profitable is beyond me. Also, these next gen consoles...are not here. The game is. The DLC is...and out there for the 2 other platforms regardless of next gen. Like I said in other posts, it hurts Bethesda more than the players, because they lost profits from a DLC...much less any faith in their game on that platform to purchase others, knowing there may be a chance it happens again. If this happened on Xbox, players would be just as upset. If on PC, same thing. It just doesn't look good when you go about business as usual...yet leave 1/2 of your paying customers out of the fun or loop.
Why? Who that is interested in this game doesn't already own it? If I want a t-shirt or a spinoff novel I'll just go buy one. And if there really is no DLC included why would anyone bother with this?
I can't believe they are not releasing Skyrim GOTY with all the DLC since it has been almost a Year and if that was the case, I can see why they would this Premium Edition but since it's not GOTY, don't be a Fool, wait for GOTY with all the DLC.
