@lithus: When have I ever said that a FPS can't do anything new my whole point is that if a game is to become more than a FPS it has to actualy have to change the fact that it is a fps. I am saying the very thing you sttaed in the end of your last comment because idots like you think that a game feature changes the fact that it is a fps. Once again I did not say anything about fps not able to be inovative but it is going to take more than pretty much remaking COD 4 (a actual inovative fps) and adding a few game modes and saying it is a completely diffrent game. Black Ops is nothing more than a wanna be COD 4 (a actual inovative fps) and people like you refuse to realize that ever since COD 4 nothing new to the gameplay has been done to the series
New release slate championed by Treyarch's hotly hyped Cold War-era shooter; Nintendo's new controller, Mario Anniversary bundles, PlayStation Move-exclusive The Fight: Lights Out round out the week.
One year ago this week Activision released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the critically and financially successful shooter from Infinity Ward. Now it's Treyarch's turn. The developer's greatly hyped Call of Duty: Black Ops comes to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, DS, and PC on Tuesday. Analysts believe it could sell upwards of 18 million units, behind a huge preorder run.
Black Ops features a star-studded voice-acting cast and a soundtrack composed by Sean Murray of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and it will be available in three distinct editions ranging in price from $60 to $150. The Cold War-era shooter will also sport a Zombie mode, a fan-favorite component made famous by Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War.
Nintendo ushers in a new wave of control this week with the Wii Remote Plus. The Wii Remote Plus will debut on November 7 and will be sold in all-new Wii hardware packages and bundles. It will also be sold separately beginning on that date for $39.99. The Wii Remote Plus combines the original Wii Remote with the MotionPlus add-on.
Nintendo also will release two new Mario anniversary systems this week. The new Wii package--in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.--will include a red system, copies of New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Wii Sports, a Wii Remote Plus, and everything else normally associated with the system. It will debut at $200 and will be a limited edition.
Also being released on November 7 will be a new $180 DSi XL bundle. Similar to the Wii package, the DSi XL bundle is also a limited edition and is colored red in honor of the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. This package will include a DSi XL with three themed graphics on its face, a copy of Mario Kart DS, and three preinstalled titles: Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Brain Age Express: Math, and Photo Clock.
Making its way to shelves on the same day is FlingSmash, Nintendo's latest controller/software pairing. The new SKU bundles a Wii Remote Plus with a copy of the game. According to Nintendo, FlingSmash "combines the hands-on fun of tennis with the nonstop action and instant gratification of pinball." Nintendo employed a similar tactic with Wii Play when the company included a Wii Remote with the title. That game went on to become the best-selling game of all time in the United States. The FlingSmash bundle will retail for $49.99.
Also being released this week is The Fight: Lights Out. A PlayStation Move exclusive, the title lets players fight in the dark and gritty underground with Sony's new motion controllers, which have shipped more than a million units since being released on September 17.
Those looking to the past for new fun can pick up The Sly Collection this week for the PlayStation 3. The bundle includes all three PlayStation 2 Sly games: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves.
Besides having remastered HD graphics, The Sly Collection will boast 3D visuals--provided the player has a television that supports 3D. It will also support Sony's PlayStation Move motion-sensing system, which hit the US market in September. In addition, the collection will have full trophy support, with remastering duties of the Sucker Punch-developed originals being handled by Sanzaru Games.
Gamers looking to bundle up this week can pick up the ESA Game Pack. Bearing the Entertainment Software Association's logo, the $30 PS3 pack bundles copies of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, and Tomb Raider: Underworld.
Rounding out the week is the Wii version of the decently received Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 and Knights in the Nightmare for the PSP. Those who purchase the latter will score a free digital copy of another Atlus PSP RPG remake, Yggdra Union. The game will be available to those who pick up Knights in the Nightmare from retailers or download it through the PlayStation Network.
For further details on the week's games, visit GameSpot's New Release page. The full list of downloadable games on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Wii Shop Channel will be revealed later this week. Release dates are based on retailer listings and are subject to change.

@DoofeyF24: lol nice try. I just got done telling you virtually the same thing. Atleast try and be original. Fail. No one here has any clue as to what you're talking about. We could (and have) named a dozen reasons why you're wrong and you keep saying the same thing. Your logic is flawed, because YOU say it's an "FPS" it can NEVER be innovative and new. And that because you shoot other people, it's just the same. uhh, hellooo McFly!? That's why they call it an First Person Shooter (FPS)!!! If it had new "game play features" like you want, it WOULDNT be an FPS anymore! Do ya get me? geezus! You are beyond hope my friend.
@lithus: I just don't understand how many times I have to explain things to you. So I will make it so that in some string of luck you will understand. Call of Duty is a FPS now let that sink in........Ok now that you have thought about that for a bit a new game mode is a feature. Now as I stated as long as the game has you shooting other people from a first person view it is now say this with me a first person shooter adding new features such as game modes doesn't change the fact that you are playing a First person shooter that is what I said in my orginal comment and the one before this one and I will stand by that because it is the truth no matter how many features the game has it is still a First person shooter there is nothing more or less to it
@DoofeyF24: You remind me of my 3 year old nephew. He asks "why?"..and I give him a simple, true answer. And you know what he says..."WHY?". Like a broken record, it's always "Why?". See, like my under developed nephews mind, yours operates in the same manner. I could give you a thousand honest, true and accurate examples and reasons why Black Op's has new gameplay features (not being an ordinary FPS) and you'll still sit there and repeat yourself. Put simply, you are wrong (others agree). So here's what I'll say to you like I would my nephew with the attention span of a puppy. "Because I SAID SO!".
@rooster0567 nooo wayyyy.... I'm going to the midnight release so i can beat it as soon as possible. i bet everyone else there will be as excited as i am
I know some people might hate this but it won't be a Suprise to see Black Ops at top which will sell millions of copies at Midnight.
To be honest, I probably wouldn't be so excited for BlackOps if FO: New Vegas wasn't so glitchy and I could play that. Or if Fable 3 was better.
@misterstatus *Sigh* You dont get it do you? fine, screw it. Atleast im enjoying everything. I dont want you to convince people that wii is a horrible system just because of minor things is all. Most people just think of that and then *BOOM* IT SUCKS AUTOMATICALLY -_-
@hotdiddykong "im not gonna soil myself arguing with someone who barely knows anything." - Excuse me? I don't know anything because I don't share your love of all things Wii? Too funny. "Grow up and dont give the wrong messages" - And by "wrong messages", you obviously mean messages that don't agree with your opinion of the Wii. You're right, I need to grow up and be more like you - open minded, willing to accept facts and opinions different from their own, and able to have intelligent conversations without making insulting assumptions about the other person. Yep, that's you. This is why I rarely leave comments on this board. Life's too short to argue with fanboys. Have a good one.
@ Gamespot Have you guys heard anything about Apache: Air Assault being released tomorrow the 9th? On the Playstation Blog, Rey Gutierrez (Senior Social Media Specialist) for Sony, responded to a comment and said that we should expect Apache to release tomorrow.
@hotdiddykong Statements such as the Wii being the least powerful system of the three (Wii, 360, PS3), or that it is the only console to not offer HD gaming, or that it now has the least impressive motion controls of any system, are not comments valid only to myself. They are facts. If these things don't matter to you, good for you, but they do matter to a lot of people who are looking to get the best value for their money. Calling someone a troll simply because they made comments that rain on your parade, and jumping in with a rebuttal every time someone says anything negative about the Wii, does nothing for your credibility. I still say Nintendo's decision to package the Wii in a bright red box this Christmas has at least as much to do with grabbing attention on store shelves as it does with anything else. I'm sorry if my comments won't be appearing in any Nintendo Fan newsletters.
@misterstatus Yes, I am a nintendo fan! but you know what? I dont go around and say bad stuff about sony and Microsoft, I have high respects for them and have a 360 myself with a bunch of popluar games. "Negative yet valid comments" Their only valid to you as you only care about all the negative stuff and throw wii away as nothing. Every system doesnt need to be the same and the wii has allot of things 360 and PS3 dont anyway. I Reserved both Black ops for my 360 and Donkey kong country returns for my wii and am enjoying both my systems.
anybody buying the sly collection? we gotta support these man because later on, we might get a final fantasy ps2 collection or maybe even a mgs ps2 collection.
@Rottenwood Call of Duty 17 is coming out? i dont see that on the lists can you point it out to me....
If you don't like how a game looks, just don't buy it and move on with your life. I most certainly won't be getting CoD: BO but others are allowed to do so without being told beforehand that what they like sucks. People buy it 'cause they like it.
I know nobody cares because Call Of Duty 17: I Shot Ur Face LULZ is coming out, but Knights in the Nightmare was pretty damn great on the DS... a unique RPG/strategy experience. Getting Yggdra Union for free as a bonus is icing on the cake.
i have been playing black ops the past three days(i have no idea how my brother got it) and i am not really impressed, it plays, looks, feels and sounds the same as the previous game though the story is better and more connecting, the most improvement i saw is that the characters you control talks now(unlike the old cod games) and he's telling his story to some guy(i won't spoil the game for you) as for the multiplayer its more balenced then MW2.
Hey guys go to Treyarch.com...There's a countdown for COD Black ops....Just 3 more hours to go woo hoo :P
I think we had this game in our stores since the 6th of Nov , but it's so overrated I wouldn't buy it
Hm that ESA PS bundle looks mighty sweet for $30 and the Sly Cooper collection.Lol and people pissed off at buying MW2. Still buys Black Ops fail.
@supersomebody i heard if you help santa deliver all of his presents in a center amount of time then you get to see a special cinematic ending.....
GUYS GUYS! IT'S FINALLY COMING! THAT'S RIGHT ON NOVEMBER 9th THEY'RE RELEASING..... Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer for the DS damn this game is gonna sell so much, we're looking at GOTY here
lets see how many thumbs down i can get for saying Black Ops will triple the sales of any of the game listed above!
@wexorian The wii shouldnt be bashed just because lack of shooters or "Realistic" They do got more better innovative games and different art styles
I can honestly say I am not stoked about Black Ops. I'm already used to them being released yearly to be excited to pick it up. Plus I have a mountain of other games to finish in the meantime.
@hotdiddykong agree wit you, wii don't have cool graphics like Ps3 or Xbox 360 + kinnect :), but if u ask me it got more good and funny games than ps3 or xbox.
Good to see a game console come packed with a real game again. Happy Anniversary Mario! That red Wii is really slick looking... too bad I already have a white one. Other than the fact that Black Ops and MW2 have the same COD monicker, they are going to be very different games. After reading the interview of Treyarch's head honcho in GI... I'm pretty sure Black Ops won't see the glitches/hacks that still plague MW2 to this day.
The only game im interested is sly collection, has the most trophies ever, since its 3 games about 120 trophies if im correct can wait to platinum them all (3 platinums) Not really the fps guy but mw2 still isnt too old and black ops is the same crap.
@Sora16Kratos Black ops is the main topic though... seeing that the titles says... "Shippin' Out November 7-13: Call of Duty: Black Ops, Wii Remote Plus"...... it kinda is
@YoshiYogurt Most people dont give 2 Sheets about wii and just dismissed it as nothing, they are kids. Remember Monster Hunter Tri 3? yeah, that game didnt go on PS3 :3
@dRuGGeRnaUt Donkey kong country returns is coming in 2 weeks. Thats a great holiday finisher considering that series is the craziest and the best of the best when it comes to Platformers
