Rage: Campaign Edition now available on Mac

$40 single-player iteration of id Software's shooter now live for Apple computers, includes Anarchy Edition content and Wasteland Sewers missions.

Mac gamers can finally get their Rage on. Bethesda today announced that a single-player-only version of last year's shooter is now available to download for Apple computers.

The Rage: Campaign Edition includes the entire campaign from October's shooter, Anarchy Edition content (weapons, buggy, and armor), and the Wasteland Sewer missions, which were new purchase incentives for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game.

The game is available in English, French, and German through Apple's Mac App Store, publisher Aspyr's proprietary store Game Agent, and "other" Mac digital distribution outlets.

Rage is set on a postapocalyptic Earth in the midst of recovering from an asteroid collision, where humans have emerged from underground "arks" like the vaults in the Fallout games.

Players assume the role of a survivor who has emerged from an ark and subsequently been outfitted with an array of performance-enhancing nanotechnology and some powerful ranged weaponry.

I love the id tech five engine to death with its unrelenting 60 fps sweetness. Rage, not so much.

Oh yeah, the wasteland sewer missions. Never found those. Not particularly interested in finding them, either. The main game was all the "meh" I needed. And what the hell was up with that ending?!

@catsimboy: You and I are probably about to get thumbed down massively, but I just wanted to let you know that I loved the reference you made about the boat anchors. That video cracks me up!

Piece of advice for Mac users. Save your money. This game was one of my disappointments from last year. It is so overrated. Graphic Whores love it but outside of the graphics the game isn't good at all. Bad story, bland characters. Abrupt end. Empty "open world". Repetitive fetch quests. Just a subpar game.

Here comes the Apple-bashers - if they aren't here already.

As a MAC user, I'm glad companies still support the platform.

You can play games on those things? I thought they were supposed to be boat anchors.
