The show is free and open to the public and will take place at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. Keeping with its yearly tradition, QuakeCon 2012 will host a large-scale bring-your-own-computer (BYOC) LAN party, which has become North America's largest such gathering.

Other details concerning the show are thin. However, gamers can expect to get their hands on upcoming titles from Bethesda Softworks and sister studio id Software during the convention. Specific games were not mentioned, but projects in development at Bethesda and id include Prey 2, Dishonered, and Doom 4.

Panel discussions at last year's QuakeCon included chats about first-person shooter games from employees of Respawn Entertainment and id Software, as well as talks of origin stories from Arkane and Insomniac Games.
