Pokemon Black and White 2 revealed for DS

@shalashaska88 Yeah I do. I should have added that I won't buy a 3DS just for them, either. It's unfortunate, but my portable gaming dwindled over the past few years until pokemon was the only game I played. Just not worth it anymore.

@Wolflink001 : But you're missing the main point...it isn't so that Pokemon will sell more but that while selling software..it will sell hardware also.Pokemon is probably the best selling portable ip...if they were to put it exclusively on 3ds it would sell hundreds...thousands..maybe even more or units for the 3ds..vital when Vita has just released.Isn't the general idea for a sequel to be significantly better than the original? But with Black & White 2 it will be the same area...more than likely same Pokemon..and the same graphics and style..now how is that better?

If the gaming industry wants to move on, please drop this pathetic and childish franchise.

@moviequest14 Well, I can understand that but regardless of the opinions of these games being on the 3DS I think these games will sell just fine on the DS. And if people want to see a true 3D Pokemon game on 3DS they will get it in the near future and it will problaby be even better than these games. Nintendo knows what they are doing here so I'm really not in a twist about this whole "it needs to be on the 3DS" thing. 3DS sells and DS sells have generated considerable profits already so the DS can have its "Grey" Version because thats what it was supposed to be anyway and if people want it to be on 3DS so bad the game is backwards compatible so they can still play it without the 3DS power graphics and enjoy it.

This might be the last game for the DS so I'm fine with it, next gen should come out for the 3DS and it should be way better, hopefully!... ^_^

@Wolflink001 : I can't help but to agree with MEDzZ3RO ......a more appropriate question for you to ask is ''Why still have it on the ds?''..it isn't as if we would lose features on the 3ds version that we had on the ds one..the 3ds can do everything the ds can and more.This isn't a small graphical improvement like the gamecube to wii.The 3ds has polygonal gaming as a standard while it was practically non-existent (and often done poorly when done) on the ds.Hell,this could be the first main-series pokemon game to have an over-the-shoulder polygon view.It would be one thing if this was 5 years ago and ds was just starting out..but choosing to stay on ds is choosing to stick with the same formula with little new.

I have no doubt that there is a full 3D (or at least 3D styled) Pokemon game on the drawing board for the 3DS (which may be rainbow or whatever). This (these?) game(s) will be interesting, though. If it is a direct sequel, you will probably continue the story as the same character and possibly keep all the pokemon from the first one. Don't know if I'll get it any time soon but I am curious about how this game will distinguish itself from the original Black/White.

@Wolflink001 The DS is past it's best, we won't see a huge leap forwards for the series because it can't, the hardware's too limiting. We've had countless Pokemon games on DS (seven so far?) Nintendo have progressed to the 3DS so why shouldn't the Pokemon franchise? If Gamefreak weren't so greedy they'd realise a Pokemon game on the 3DS would sell systems for Nintendo, it would entice people who haven't to upgrade to a 3DS. It would be like Nintendo having released a standalone GBA version of the game one year after the DS launched on the basis the DS can play GBA games, it's going backwards when the industry's trying to move forwards.

Nuts. I was hoping for Pokemon Rainbow and Plaid.

@MEDzZ3RO I understand your opinions on this but what I don't seem to understand is what purpose would this game serve being on 3DS? Ok, I know the graphics power would be superior on the 3DS but seeing that both Black & White were released on the DS already why would they move it suddenly to 3DS??? It makes alot of sense for them to put these games on the DS to be counter parted with Black & White. And since the 3DS can play DS games what's the big deal seriously? These games will sell no question even if they aren't on the 3DS and even though the 3DS can still play them.

I can't wait for a pokemon game to use the SD card in the 3DS to transfer all of your pokemon at once from the old game to the new one. The methods of transfer have gotten better over the years, but a total backup would be perfect.

@shadowysea07 : Yes,you CAN play them on the 3ds..but it won't sell the systems.It is reasonable to say that roughly the same amount (probably less) will purchase these as did the original 2....so that means those people already own a ds and aren't going to buy a 3ds to play it.That is like saying it is a good idea to release the next Zelda on wii after a full year into the wii-u life.The only people that will buy a 3ds for Black & White 2 are those that for some strange reason..want to play the sequels ..but yet haven't already purchased ds with it's what...15 pokemon titles?My apologies I do believe that would count for 5 more additional units. .....I just see no reason to develop for the ds when you can develop exclusively on the 3ds,sell more systems,and build up an all around better game (considering the 3ds can do EVERYTHING the ds can do and more).

Pokemon Black... 2??? Wait I don't understand... will there be new Pokemon, or no? So confused... And interesting they're releasing it for the DS still. They've GOT to be working on Pokemon 3DS...

i really hope these sequels have something like pokemon gold silver and crystal where you can go into kanto after johto. would be cool if they allowed you to go back to hoenn since thats the only game not on the ds currently. either that or have the orre region from xd gale of darkness and coliseum expanded.

@wiidsduelpack It's Nintendo. They don't think before they do stupid crap... Honestly, if they go bankrupt I won't feel sorry in the least. It'll suck, but they've had it coming.

@moviequest14 you must be confused. you can play these games on the 3ds as well so it will still sell them. just not as much as the current ds.

After reading about this, I had to go to NintendoLife, and some die hard Pokemon are really angry about this since black and white looked pixelated and Black/White 2 is coming in Japan in June and by the time it comes worldwide, it will be December or 2013. / What was Nintendo thinking about this?

For all the people saying why isn't it on the 3ds. The answer is obvious. Nintendo will get more sales on the DS because so many people have them 150 million DS sold compared to 15 million 3DS. When you have 10x as big of an player base it makes more sense to go for the platform with the larger base. Pokemon has never been known for its graphics and using the most cutting edge tech to make their games.

Looks like they need to go to crayola and have them invent a new color so the Pokemon's can continue.

@Wolflink001 Maybe so but with the limitations of the DS, the improvements we can expect to see will be minimal. I'd rather see the series make a huge leap forwards, not to mention a lot of people would buy a 3DS just for the next iteration of the Pokemon games. I'll pick White 2 on the basis the games are still good however I'd have much preferred a 3DS iteration.

Sigh... Another Pokemon game for the DS. Are 3DS owners going to have to suffer through all these games? First their was Pokemon+Nobunaga's Ambition. That will be released for DS. Now this will too? I have a 3DS. Put games on it.

All of you mouth-breathers repeating the line "THEY RAN OUT OF COLORS HERPDERP!" thinking you're being original are obviously incapable of any form of abstract thought. Ever stop stroking your fragile egos for a minute and consider that the fact that the use of a numeral, for the first time ever, indicates that this is in fact the first true SEQUEL of the series? Of course not. Most of you invalids haven't even played Black/White to the end. Rather than a bonus-feature same-generation remake like Crystal, Emerald, or Platinum (of which they never produce two versions, as it's the third version of another game), this is likely *gasp* a continuation of the storyline. New story, same generation. Black/White's ending left a few loose ends. Not only that, but there was a lot of lore that went unexamined. One tidbit being that Zekrom and Reshiram broke off from a single Pokemon that crashed to the planet like a meteor, torn into three beings: Zekrom, Reshiram, and the husk-like body those two Pokemon once inhabited: Kyurem. Obviously this game will go into detail on that, judging from the freaky Kyurem/Zekrom/Reshiram hybrids in the cover art, and probably will shed some light on what happened to N and other characters after the conclusion of Black/White's storyline.

I'm curious as to how Nintendo came to the decision to put these games on the DS. After seeing what the 3DS can do, I'm disappointed that this is for the DS. These games would have much better graphics on the 3DS and 3D can easily work for Pokemon, despite being 2D in nature (it would show depth). Plus it would be much easier to go online with 3DS friend codes, instead of friend codes for each game. Besides, Pokemon could have really boosted 3DS sales. Also, why is it split into two versions? That's really odd and never been done in the second half of a Pokemon generation.

I don't see what people are complaining about. It's more Pokemon. Are you guys seriously gonna rage about the color of the game? Really? I care more about what they can do to make it different instead of worrying about a color.

I see this as a DLC of sorts for Pokemon Black and White, the story was never finished at the end of the game and definitely was left open to grow more. If anything it will be a continuation of the storyline and you will carry your team over from the first game to the second and face harder enemies and actually... shall I say it.... have a storyline different than the ones of the past. That is the reason this is on DS and not 3DS is because they wouldn't want to force the people who played part one to have to buy a 3DS to play part two, that is just poor marketing.

Why would you make a Pokemon White 2 & Black 2 before making a Pokemon Gray??? I hope this isn't the future of Pokemon. Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green 3 coming soon !

I won't buy. I was waiting for something for the 3DS using it's full power. I'm not saying people shouldn't buy it, will probably be great. However I'm just way more pacient then the regular Pokemon fan. I don't really breathe Pokemon. And I dig the 3DS way more than I ever dug the DS, so I'll be playing Kid Icarus or whatever and waiting paciently for the Pokemon game that is going to make me spend my money.

My only complaint; Why the hell is this on DS instead of 3DS? These would be the perfect games to introduce pokemon on the 3DS but they aren't
