Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for the Xbox 360 has been canceled in Japan. An update to Konami's website reveals that due to "various reasons," the action game from Platinum Games will not see release in the island nation. No further specifics were disclosed.
Despite the cancellation for Japan, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the United States and Europe in February as previously planned, according to a statement provided to Eurogamer.
The Xbox 360 has not been a best-seller in Japan. It regularly ranks the lowest on Japan's hardware sales charts, moving just 978 units during one week in August.
