would like to said that I have nothing but down hill with EA, why I said that I have buy the mass effect trilogy for PC and was unable to play at all. EA support was unable to help me with the first set was Nov 6 2012 got nowhere the second was Jan 2 2013 and still can get the help I need all I got was the run around . got at two different GAMESTOP and still can believe this at all.
BioWare to launch upcoming space RPG three-pack for Sony's platform one month after debut on PC and Xbox 360.
When BioWare announced the Mass Effect Trilogy in September, the developer slated the three-pack to arrive for PC and Xbox 360 on November 6, but kept quiet on a release date for the PlayStation 3. That has now changed, as BioWare has confirmed the Mass Effect Trilogy will be available for the Sony faithful on December 4.
The original Mass Effect never released for the PS3, but not only will Sony crowd get to play the game for the first time as part of the Trilogy, the title will also be available as a standalone download on the PlayStation Network.
The Trilogy includes the original Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, and will be available at retail for $60. A price for the standalone Mass Effect game through the PlayStation Network was not announced.
BioWare also detailed what PS3 fans can expect in the way of downloadable content for the Mass Effect Trilogy. The company said the PS3 version will include the original Mass Effect's Bring Down the Sky content, while Mass Effect 2 will feature the Cerberus Network (which includes the Kasumi, Overlord, and Lair of the Shadow Broker content). Lastly, BioWare said Mass Effect 3 for PS3 within the Trilogy will be "exactly as it originally shipped."
This is seriously a waste of time if your already got the dlc for the other copys of this game, because if you but this trilogy & sell your other copys, the data on the dlcs wont transfer over to the trilogy copy of the game mean you will have to pay for all the dlc again to play them on the trilogy box set bioware & EA have screw us over again there trying to make more money out of you when youve already spend 100s of pounds on the DLC for mass effect 2 & 3, dont waste your money or sell the other copys just download the mass effect 1 from the psn, i know this because i have had the dlc arrival mission for mass effect 2 before this trilogy came out,i brought the triology thinking the dlc would transfer over normal to the game it hasnt, clear states that you have to buy the dlc again waste money on something youve already brought in the first place to fit the trilogy box set.
So it is real? ME (1) for PS3?? I saw it today on the PS Store. Didn't MS own all rights for the original game? I may consider buying the trilogy, then. I hated the idea to play it missing the first chapter!
I'm glad I'll finally be able to give these games a try. (I don't like playing sequels before the first game and my PC just cannot handle gaming.) And to get all three full games for $60? That seems to be a great price. Especially considering how many games go for that much and don't have much content. (I.E. Lollipop Chainsaw which used is still about $50 and could be completed in a day.)
EA games no dlc folks.Even Ubisoft when release a compilation give everysingle DLC, but no EA.That's why people hate EA.
They should release a PS3-only revison of this called Mass Effect Trilogy Plus. It would be all on one blu-ray and include EVERY SINGLE DLC for all 3 games, right on the disc. It would be PS3 only because of the multi disc switch on the other platforms.
Got a sweet unboxing vid if you guys wanna see! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIwewq_UmnQ
i was all set to "shut up and take my money!" but after hearing the DLC for ME3 isnt included I'm thinking twice now.
BioWare should have waited until ME3's DLC are done then make an Ultimate Edition with everything included. Of course, it's all about the money.
oh dont worry, they will :)
They just want to release a half ass version first to make more money off us. I was going to get this for the console, as I own all 3 on PC anyway, but after hearing no DLC, forget it
So why the delay?
Anyway at least its before christmas. I'm buying this for my brother who has NEVER played ME and is a PS3 user. So this is a win for him! I'm sure he and his wife will like it =)
@BushidoEffect3 BioWare is probably updating ME1 with ME3's engine because the Xbox engine isn't compatible or something like that.
ME3 comes exactly as originally shipped. Can you still download the DLC for it that is on PSN (both free and paid)?
I don't see why not, but they haven't specifically said from what I can find.
great now that i know there are more decisions unavailable in the digital comic im already throwing my money at the damn screen!!! i wish i knew this was goin to happen cuz then i wouldve waited smh@me
Yay! Now I can make choices in ME1 that will effect ME2 that also reacts choices in ME3 :D Played 2 and 3, but PS3 was limited in certain options in ME3 due to the lack of ME1, so some events were defaulted :P
If they wanted to make serious money off this they should have invented another ending for the goofs that demanded a different ending before. Milk these guys for every single dollar you can get Bioware. Heck just keep making different endings. 1000000 different DLC endings. LOL
I only have part2 on ps3. Good game but not good enough. Its more shooter than rpg and the first time i played i played it completely, nothing more to do except for trophies. Bummer
Never thought I'd see a game published by Microsoft Game Studios playing on a PS3, as it was made before BioWare was sucked into the ugly monster that is EA. That's sure to give MS a nice bonus in royalties. I wonder if this version will be worth getting for those who've gotten the games when originally released.
@N-REAL hopefully that's what they're working on seeing as PS3's version is releasing a month later than the other platforms release date
@R_Mckay I'm aware it won't bring ALL DLC, but between buying a 360 to be able to transfer saves from the first on, this way I'll be able to play them all on PS3 which I already have, so that way it won't cost has much to have the full experience, since part of the experience is to be able to import the choices you've made in one game so it affects the next
@DrAmazinDood @R_Mckay I hear you, one of the reasons I hesitated in getting ME2 for my PS3 was because I couldn't import my saved game character like I could in my PC version of the game, but I was quite happy to purchase it when they released ME2 for PS3 and it included all the important DLCs that tied the games together. (but downloading the comic to get the ME backstory was a real pain T_T again SHOULD have been on the disk itself)
which is probably the reason why they didn't call this the "ultimate edition" we probably can expect that "trilogy bundle" to show its head once all the DLC for ME3 comes out and once the supplies for the original ME3 gets moved... hopefully the true ultimate edition would include the extended cut version and all the DLCs (not saying that it fixed what was problematic with ME3's ending... but at least its going to be included "IN DISK" - again my opinion only)
and from someone who already owns the games on PC and PS3 the only thing compelling to purchase in this bundle is the original ME w/c came out for Xbox and not for the PS3 and if I had the funds to do online purchase, I would just download that game from the PSNetwork.
I just wished that Bioware/EA could have done this properly like they did for the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age: Origins. so while this bundle could prove to be interesting, I'm hoping for the "complete" experience of the ME franchise to be released down the line and THAT would be a best buy for a fan an collector like me ^_^,
I almost "want" to buy this for my PS3, but after reading all that was included in this "bundle" the glaring omission of DLCs highlight what is "missing" in this trilogy... all the DLCs that pertains to the story not being included is a complete disappointment.
why cant they release an ultimate edition properly for ME? I mean they managed to do it for Dragon Age: Origins (I bought the PS3 and PC versions on top of the stand alone games that I bought for both platforms) so you know they can do "ultimate" bundles right...
perhaps this is a good way to get rid of all that unsold ME3 inventory that they have gathering dust in some warehouse because of that ending debacle and the way it was handled (my opinion)
the only thing I want is the original ME version for the PS3, but that alone doesn't justify the expense of purchasing this "incomplete bundle edition" from my once trusted developer. Guess that's what happens when you put so much emphasis on money making that you forget to make a great game to justify that asking price.
@R_Mckay I've held off getting into Mass Effect until the first game was released on PS3. I'm going to hold off getting this until the package is really cheap and all the DLC heavily discounted.
you forgot to mention that ME1 ps3 version is the best since it use ME2-3 kits
unlike the xbox and pc which are the exact same games.
The definitive ME experience on ps3 cant wait, that box art looks sweet
well too bad for me and a million other loyal fans who already bought the trilogy for over 3 times the cost not including the DLC
@gen85 Yes that is true, BUT you got to play it before anyone else who did not buy it when it first came out. Just like any other game that drops in price after a year or more.
@ziproy Because ME3's DLC aren't done yet. There will probably be an Ultimate Edition with everything like BioWare did with Dragon Age: Origins.
Good strategy. First get PS3 users to buy 2 and 3, make them feel bad for not having 1. Then release 1 to them, but bundled with 2 and 3. Make them buy the bundle. They'll sell their copies of 2 and 3 to a video game store. Whoever buys the used copy of 3 will be coughing up 10 bucks for the online pass. $$$$$ everywhere
@okassar Mass Effect 1 will be on sale on PSN. Sold separately! So there you go.
@okassar whats wrong ?
i bought me2-3 on ps3 and have also the pc trilogy from a friend
As a collector i dont mind, beside the box looks sweet
also ME1 ps3 version is the best since it use ME2-3kits unlike the xbox and pc version which will be the exact same thing
@okassar or the people who already have ME2 and 3 can just buy ME1 off the playstation store by it's self
