@MW2ismygame i really don't care. oh yeah it's Sanctioned not sectioned. what you said means i'll be torn asunder into different equal pieces. before you decide to leave what you consider a comment that you feel is intelligent and adds to the conversation in a positive way instead of just being a kiss arse to the publishers. Were being screwed over and i got the testicular fortitude to open my mouth and say something about it. you do not.

What if Master Chiefs died at the end of Halo 3 like all the other spartans on Reach, or If Solid Snake "had" actually blew his own brains out at the end of MGS4, millions and millions of people would had been outraged at these endings and would have decimated Bungie or Hideo Kojima. Well thats just the kinda ending we got with Mass Effect 3 not a good everythings been bound up nicely and put away into a box of good memories ending but was rather a crumpled up tossed in the corner kinda ending. We're not asking for a complete major overhaul of the game just a better more polished ending that puts everything away nicely.

WARNING SPOILERS Plus i hate ending when they build the hype to the ending then it just STOPS (wow way to go BioWare/EA you made the Reapers feel the drop of my hart full of Disappointment and there not even real!!!!!) lol but still donating to the Child's Play charity to get awareness of the massive mistake made by that ending is amazing nothing like this has ever happened ever for a game!!! As a massive Mass Effect fan (100% ME1 and ME2 with at least 200h+ on both) i hope KingofCabal is right and BioWare will make more games in the ME universe but i can't help but feel that the end of ME3 was a bit disappointing (sod a bit a *****) i won't give away any spoilers but an alternate ending will be the best thing for ME3 instead of that what happens witch made me question what was the point in it all (if you catch my meaning) (trying my best hear not to give any spoilers and not sound like Zaeed Massani lol) the ending need to be more the the that simply put!!! Denvernick, we play video games for enjoyment and it is their job to make good games; not that im saying they shouldn't get creative, but their is a line be between creative and stupid and they crossed that line by a mile.

@MW2ismygame I can't give a personal opinion on it because I have not played the game, but I did read the spoilers on it to find out what the big fuss was about and that was the basis of my post. In my opinion, and I think the one the industry is trying to push for, video games are an art form. There is a lot that goes into creating each one and in some cases, this being a great example, not only is there art work that is included, but also an in depth story. Many, many hours went into making this and I have a hard time believing that they got to a point and just said 'Hey, let's just throw in some crap so we can get this over with'. No, this was the intended end to it. As for people complaining that it did not wrap up certain story points, um, yeah, there are a number of films, books, etc. that do the same thing. Does that mean that they should go back and change the end? No. It is a huge slap in the face to everyone that worked on the game. Think of it this way, I am sure everyone has a movie that they do not like, but that was great for everyone else. Are you going to cry and demand that they reshoot the ending of the movie to fit your wants? No, probably not, you just don't ever watch the movie again. Same thing here, it is art, it is up to every individual person's interpretation. To me, it is actually a testament of how good the writers are that it brings about so much emotion, but people should accept it for what it is, not what they want it to be.

So, we have people petitioning and raising significant amounts of money to change an ending a video game, but we never had this kind of productive action taken to, say, demand the Star Wars prequels were remade into something better?

Yeah, the ending is what it is, a story they wanted to tell. Petitioning for another ending is cool I suppose. What I really want is for them to fix the import character problems hounding us ME1 & 2 players who have put in the time with the series.

Why don't everybody petition Bioware to come to your home on demand and make you the ending you want? While we, you know, the people who don't rage on the Internet play the game and value its ideas and the vision of its creators.

It is funny to me that people are more upset about the GD ending than they are at the company's business practices and the fact they openly LIED to their customers about the DLC.

The ending was so Deus-Ex/Matrix 2 (Architect talk, but lesser in quality)... I am really pissed off about it. No of my choices made over 300+ hrs of taking ME1 & ME2 over and over again mattered. If they don't do anything with it, ME3 will be the last game I bought from BioWare. Some say that each developer has the right to f*ck up their game. Well, maybe they do. But don't ya go on promising all of those ME fans out there stars in the sky, then suck them dry with Day-1 DLC with a forkin' PROTEAN(!!) and end an 5-year incredible journey with that piece of crap. IMHO they have just one shot at this. And a lot of their future games' well being will depend on their decisions. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for someone over at BioWare to think this matter through. I have never seen such furious reaction about a game's ending. It was similiar to the dissapointment of many when LOST's finale was aired. I just hope that through FREE DLC they will give Shepard's story a closure. Because hearing him take a sharp breath IS NOT THE WAY Shepard should exit the scene. Now or ever.

It's not like any one is whining for no reason; BioWare PROMISED that the ending would be different based on the choices you made. (POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR HAPPY MODERATOR POLICE) No matter what decisions you made throughout the whole game, you see the same ending happen which reflects no choices. The only way to have different looking endings is to pick one of three colors, and depending on the size of your army, you'll see three guys on Earth either getting evaporated, standing still, or waving their arms. And depending on who you chose in the final battle to be on your squad, you may see one of them leaving the Normandy. That's not different, those are all the same, BioWare. Thanks for lying to me, now I won't buy another game from you.

*maybe spoilers?* just finished the game...now I know what you guys have been talking about....really bioware? what a slap in the face...I go from ME1 to ME3 building my shepard thenit just ends...like that. I didn't feel good after I beat the game, rather disappointed. So much potential. This is definately gonna make me hesitant to invest so much time in future bioware/ea story driven games.

The problem with the ending as it is now is that it takes three games worth of story and wraps it up with a couple of quick cutscenes that do nothing to address all that you've done in the past 70 or so hours of combined gameplay, and provides no closure or explanation. Not to mention that Harbinger is never mentioned or encountered.

Sigh. People still missing the forest for the trees. It's not about a 'happy ending', it's about an ending that makes any kind of sense, both rationally (seriously, it's crazy) and also in the context of the characters involved (they do things entirely out of character). You have to have played to understand. Secondly, it's a charity. Instead of raging about it, they've gone with donating money to a children's charity to raise the profile of their campaign. That's a positive way to channel your disappointment if I ever saw one. Not to mention that the worst thing that happens is that some money gets donated to sick kids in hospitals. A lot of comments here are completely missing the point, along with a good measure of the suspect game 'journalism' (yes, I did note that in both videos I watched on Gamespot today there were Old Republic ads preceding them). IGN have their game journalist IN the game, Gamespot are taking advertising money from EA. Certainly paints their 'editorials' in a certain light.

Honestly I was kind of disappointed with the endings at first (I like them a bit more now), but seriously, this is just bloody ridiculous.

well the endings may have not filled in every question and id admit i wanted more answers, i think people are taking this a little to far, "oh its so bad bioware is the worst developers EVARZ" i was content with the ending and i got what i wanted with the game so what ever imo, and it seems like every excuse is coming out to say the game was bad. i just think people need to take a chill pill and say to them selves "was it really that bad ? or is it just not what i pictured ?"

Demand that it be changed to be a happier ending, where God and Jesus make a trip down to earth to hand out free candy and give everyone back rubs. The End. Relax people, this is not your story to write. If the writers of the story wanted to end it this way, guess what, that's their call, not yours. Next thing you know, people will be complaining about other forms of art and demanding that it be changed to fit their own selfish needs. Let these people create what they want, if you do not like it, well, don't buy it. Simple as that. If you bought it on the first day it came out so you could not be aware of this, tough luck, maybe you should have waited. i'd rather have them just enable the best possible ending for people that can't play online, because that is just not right to make how your story ends to almost entirely hinge on your level online.

I wouldn't pay for a different ending, in fact, the very thought is preposterous! Imagine people wanting Tolkien, Stephen King or some other great author to have changed their stories, that's just plain stupid. If you don't like the story go read/watch/play something else.
