Halo 4 tournament announced as part of MLG Fall Championship

Halo 4 added to MLG Fall Championship lineup; bracket format, scheduling, and prizing to be confirmed.

North American eSports organisation Major League Gaming has announced Halo 4 as part of its Fall Championship lineup. The tournament will take place just days before the game is officially released, giving competitors the opportunity to play the game before it goes on sale.

Additional details, such as prize money, format, bracket size, and schedule, have yet to be confirmed. The MLG Fall Championship will be taking place in Dallas, Texas, on November 2-4 this year.

In an update on the official Xbox website, Microsoft has advised that, for an "optimal experience," players should install the entire game to their console's hard drive, which will require at least 8GB of free space.

Halo 4 is due out on November 6 for the Xbox 360. It is a direct sequel to 2007's Halo 3 and has players taking on the role of supersoldier Master Chief. For more on the project, check out GameSpot's latest preview.

On another note....I will gladly use 8 gigs on my console.  If you've got the 250gb harddrive, it's no big deal.  If you don't, I don't feel sorry for you.

 @Fartman7998 Some people have other bills to pay and can't reason paying the price MS asks. I'm not one of them but when you can buy a multi-TB HDD for the same price as a 250 GB HDD... I mean it's almost the price per gig of a Solid State. That's a little ludicrous. I just happen to have the money to waste/additional incentive for the larger HDD.

 

Which makes you sound ludicrous for suggesting that everyone should get one.

I can hear the screams now and now my ears are ringing. Halo 4 tournaments will be the biggest thing since Halo 2 and Halo3 Tournaments.

Not a console player, but 8 gigs seems like a big chunk for a console game.

 @fatee Diablo 3 had an install folder of something like 7.5 Gigs. When you consider the entire game runs off the hard drive (and that the 360 uses only a 9 GB disk...) then that certainly seems like a lot to me too.

 

I hope the refine the process a little for the next Gen. Copying the entirety of the disk onto the Hard Drive and then requiring the disk is archaic.
