E3 2011: Silent Hill HD Collection spooking PS3 this fall

if is collection should have the first. I loved the first game too and is a classic. It doesn't matter the graphic but you want to play it again some times.

Why they have always to cut the first game in these collections?

Why they don't put 1,2,3 and 4 in one Real Collection for PS3?????

You can still play the first game on the PS3. There's no real reason to port it. It might be cool if they completely remade it though...like twin snakes.

Why the hell would they NOT do this for the first game?? I love this franchise but I'm still of the opinion that 1 is unsurpassed. Now THAT would make me happy. Nonetheless I'll be getting this collection.

@mickyfinn84 Me too their game line-up is so disappointing lately. I got a PS3 last year and I barely play my Xbox anymore... I lost faith the third time I got the red rings.

I have them on ps2 but am really annoyed that they are not releasing it on xbox. I'm really fed up with how crappy the 360 is these days.

Why do you Sony fans care what games go to 360 if they stay on PS3 as well? Is it not selfish to think that games like this and Final Fantasy versus 13 should only come to PS3 where fans with 360s will not get to play them. If they can put the metal gear solid collection on 360 then they sure and the hell can put this collection on it and I'm struggling to see how this "keep exclusive" opinion is not the most immature, child-like attitude i have ever seen. I do not see why it matters if it comes to 360 or not.

@newhighscore Silent Hill 2 was on the Xbox as well, so....er....yeah.... It's hilarious that my post has been rated down so much. Apparently it's good news to gamers that the number of people who can enjoy playing a HD remake of a game they loved in the past is being limited. There are some genuine reasons for a game's exclusivity to be a good thing, but when it's an older game that was multiplatform being re-released for people to enjoy again, only this time it's limited to one console - I can't really see any.

Hmmm... this is a franchise I seemed to have missed. Looks like I'll check it out since Resident Evil was castrated. I've been jonesing to play something intense.

I kinda wish they would remake these games rather than just give it the HD facelift. Oh well :-\

Silent Hill 3 was the best. The magical girl outfit was classic.

well that sucks with three being the proper sequel to number one why not jus whack it on in there even if it aint hd, or will it appear on ps store with a 50% off voucher included with the collection just to squeeze a few more pennies from us fans, com on konami do it properly like ubisoft with the prince of persia trilogy (though the same can be said bout the mgs collection only being the ps2/xbox ones, however they're including the peacewalker in there too soo i aint seeing why either shouldn't be a complete collection)

@breadisgood - why? theyre choosing to dance with the girl they came with. i find that respectable. they support who supports them. besides sony has given you tons of our exclusives in the last cpl yrs (dmc, tekken, ff, and now mgs) be happy with that or buy the other console. simple.

2 and 3, i would hardly call that a collection. anyway, i own all of the SH games so far, except that book-thing on PSP, don't even know if it was released here. I'm gonna wait for downpour, even if.. well... no one's left of the original team.

Silent Hill HD collection, Silent Hill Downpour AND the new movie Silent Hill Revelations 3D all coming out at the same time. Wow. That's so awesome. Never been a better time to be a SH fan. =)

If Konami can bundle MGS 2, MGS 3, and Peace Walker for the 360, there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to do the same for SH 2 and SH 3. No exceptions. Haters gon' hate.

I love all the consoles, so this isn't a Sony-only fan annoyed by comments, but wow, there are some in here that are seriously sucking some bad eggs....annoyed that this will only be on PS3, well then you know what to do; Get a PS3. The exclusives on the console alone speak for themselves, and by crying about it and denouncing it because you want to defend your precious little Xbox you're only just making yourself miss out. Just get real and get all the consoles, then you don't have to miss anything. On topic - cannot wait to play SH2 in HD, such an amazing game....

well quistis you never thought just because of the crappy size of the dual layer dvd disc thats on the xbox thats holding us ps3 users back from a bigger experience so we either need to wait till ur crappy company releases a external blueray drive or microsoft thinks about including it in there next console o how microsoft must be loving its customer milking all the money they can out them as for the xbl your paying for a service that just connects to the best host which the psn already has really gd milking going on there at the end of the day when yous xbox fan boys get ripped off that much and getting ur parents to pay for the stuff we will be sitting when your next consoles out saying thank god we dont need to buy another console cause we really have all that stuff there just getting lmao

2 games ? i would a prefered the original voices and silent hill 2,3,4 and origins 50gigs on a blueray and this is all they can give us ? they should take full advantage of the disc

Oh that's real smart Konami. Making this a PS3 exclusive, an exclusive on a console that is failing to keep up with its competitors and is rife with network problems, good work. And only the second and third games? Why even bother?

All PS3 collections should be in PSN too, not only disc-based.

i have a strong reason to buy these , i always wanted to play them but i was just too scared to do so , i wonder if they will enhance to sound to make it dolby 5.1 also why silent hill 4 is not in there?

Hope we can have the option of keeping the old voice acting job or switching between the two; I know I would miss the originals so much. :c That's what drew me in, especially about SH2, which is not only my favorite from the series, but from the PS2's library in general as well.

The First HD Silent Hill was on PC, called Silent Hill 2. Too bad, no updates to the PC version, so that it will run on any newer version of Windows. This is good that it is coming to PS 3, too bad Konami makes good games but has flawed customer service. Having to buy the game again, if I want ot play it again sux. SH 2 for PC displayed beyond 720p (1280x720p), res at 1280x1024p, or 1600x1200p, and it look great. I will have to check out this version, and SH 3 on PS 3.

Looking forward to this alot. I actually have all the 3 original silent hills on my to-get list so this is great. I only wish they included the 1st one even if it wasn't remastered. On a side-note it looks like the vita is going to have 1 of the best launch/1st year line ups ever. I wonder if it will topple the Dreamcast's epic launch titles. Regardless, it looks like my sony hardware will be going into overdrive come the holidays
