As it did with Starsiege, Dynamix will offer what it calls an "Alpha Tech Release" (ATR) of its upcoming World War II flight simulation Desert Fighters.

The ATR is basically a playable multiplayer-only demo of the game, featuring three different aircraft (the Hurricane MkIIc, the Messerschmitt Bf-109e, and the Macchi MC 202 Folgore, an Italian fighter practically unused in computer flight simulations), translucent cockpits, selectable nose art, 64-player games, and many other graphical and gameplay features.

Dynamix uses the ATRs as a way of testing performance issues in the game, including the use of big multiplayer arenas for online games. Dynamix won't say exactly when the ATR for Desert Fighters will release, but the size of the download is about 30MB and will be available on GameSpot as soon as it comes out.
