Source code on Bungie's website for upcoming game includes Xbox 720, PS4, PC, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U.
Bungie's Destiny may be headed to platforms beyond Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the only two consoles the company has concretely announced the game for. The developer's preorder page (via Nintendo Life) lists unannounced platforms for Destiny in its source code, including Xbox 720, PS4, PC, PlayStation Vita, and Wii U.
It is possible these listings are merely placeholders. However, Activision's announcement of Destiny this week said Bungie's new "next-generation game engine" would allow the title to release for Xbox 360 and PS3, as well as "other future console platforms."
Neither Bungie nor Activision was immediately available to comment.
Bungie's Destiny is a new intellectual property and the studio's first project as part of a ten-year publishing arrangement with Activision. The game--not due until 2014 at the earliest--is set in a distant future and casts players as Guardians of the last city of Earth. It has been described by Activision as the world's first "shared-world shooter."

You know what. You guys should all be happy if it comes out for every system. I know I am. All platforms having an amazing game like this? They'll win support for future titles EASY
Fuck u Activision u r gonna ruin this new IP. I advise greedy Activision to port Destiny to iOS, Android, Mac and Linux so that u will have more $ which is ur only top priority. GTFO
" News flash. Newest game from Bungie that won't be release for at least 1 year or more is more than likely going to release on consoles that come out later this year"
How is this news?
Just so everyone knows, the source code for the Destiny pre-order page is very similar to the source code for the Black Ops II order page. It's probably code Activision supplies for all their games that lists all platforms and the appropriate ones are activated for each game. I really doubt there will be a Wii U or Vita port.
The Wii U version will look like crap compared to the other three. But thats the story of Nintendo's life, either does not get the third party games or gets the worst version.
@kiramasaki You really hope it looks like crap to justify your Nintendo hate. It will look good and disappoint you.
Pre-Order a game that doesn't even have a release date...or platform. Get your heads examined people.
Honestly this game is the only thing keeping me from going back to PC, if its on PC then goodbye console gaming.
I would love to have a smaller version of the game on the Vita that could interact with the console versions. With Bungie behind it I don't think they'd let an awful version of their highly anticipated game come out, so I really hope this comes to Vita. Of course, I can't wait to see what the game actually turns out to be and play it on a console.
Oh, as for preorders, who in their right mind would already preorder a game that has not even close to a release date or official list of what consoles it will be on.
I think the bottom video confirms the WiiU version. Where did the Phrase "My Body Is Ready" come from? That's Right, Nintendo. Check 1:09 in the bottom video. Lol
The question now is, will it be cross platform online play? That would be epic
Funny how Rayman going multiplat was "A Smart Decision from the developers and a good business decision that will make them more money" but now some people are biting their tongue now that this is being multiplat (Especially on the WiiU) saying things like "I don't know if this game will work on the WiiU and bad move for releasing this on multiple consoles". Why? What happened to it being a good decision for developers to release it on multiple consoles? You said it, I'm just bringing what you said back to your attention. Lol Fanboy Irony strikes again
I can't speak for the next Xbox or Playstation considering how little we know about them but it would be a HUGE mistake not releasing this for the PC. This kind of game sounds like it could be a dream for a PC gamer and they will eat that shit up.
Newsflash: New IP from AAA developer that was announced to be coming out AFTER the point next gen consoles will be out is going be a next gen game. Fucking Duh.
Watching and waiting. Hoping for a PC version. Disappointed about the always online social DRM, but we'll see if it actually adds to the game experience, or is simply DRM with lipstick and a pretty dress.
@mike300zxt its an MMO right? You are always online?
@vault-boy @godonholiday @mike300zxt Ya, reading more about it. We'll see how it works out. If it seems its just social DRM, or if there is really any need to be online if it has an SP campaign. I remain skeptical of the value, as I have yet to see a single player always online game that can genuinely justify the requirement as anything other than dressed-up DRM. We'll see :)
destiny looks good, thats the key word is looks. To me it's Brink on PS4 graphics. Brink was a joke. So I'm not so sure if this is gonna make it, but it seems PS4 and new xbox is gonna heavily focus on MMo-shooters, so no thanks.
And then they will handle the PS Vita's version development to a complete amateur developer (Black Ops: Declassified).
@GunBladeHero Hopefully Bungie will put their foot down on this one, I doubt they'll want their most hyped game since the first Halo to have a bad version released.
I don't think the next Xbox will be called Xbox 720. Microsoft went from Xbox to Xbox 360, so they have a preference for being a little creative/non-sequential with the name.
One can only hope, everytime i hear xbox 720 i want to kill a kitten. was glad when they announced 360 instead of xbox 2.
@holhardy @okassarAgreed. 2 reasons they called it "360". First, they didn't want to seem inferior to the PS3 by calling it "Xbox 2". Secondly, some talking head in Micro$haft's marketing department said something along the lines of "The Xbox 360 is an all-encompassing entertainment system, surrounding the player with 360 degrees of sheer entertainment". Or some BS like that
