MMORPG to be set in Asian-inspired fantasy world with martial arts; no release date set.
NCsoft has announced that its free-to-play MMORPG Blade & Soul will be seeing a North American and European release.
The game is set in an Asian fantasy setting filled with Asian martial arts that players will use to initiate combat with. Gamers can choose between four races (gon, jin, kun and lyn) and six classes (assassin, blademaster, destroyer, force master, kung fu master, summoner).
The title is developed by NCsoft internal studio Team Bloodlust and was released in Korea on June 30, 2012. The game has surpassed Diablo III as the most talked-about game during its open beta session in the country.
No official release date has been announced as of yet.
i was excited about this once...till NCsoft decided to axe City of Heroes.
Now NCsoft and every game under them can go to the fiery gates of Tatarus
if its f2p I will test it out, but I dont see it beeing a big thing really. mostly ok game. We have so much overflow of mmo:s lately and most of these are kind of copy of a copy. The thing that makes mmo kind of bad, cause the main focus is the gameplay and it is same thing over and over again. Story can be good but it is text and most people just dont want to read all that thing in a fast games like mmo. They want to gain lvls so they usualy skip the text that are there so there is much that is left off. In a single player games there is no hurry cause there isnt other people that affect your games.
thats why its failing already in asia....the game sucks pure and simple, its not even a true mmorpg...its a linear, grindfest dungeon mmo ala vindictus.
YES! I have been waiting to read that sentence for a while now. only way to play it before really was a private server now with this and it F2p im following
@darckdeth Is it confirmed to be F2P yet? Because I can't find anything about that on the official site. I know that the Korean version has monthly fee.
@badboy "NCsoft has announced that its free-to-play MMORPG Blade & Soul will be seeing a North American and European release." its right there in the opening statement
@darckdeth I'm not blind. I'm saying NCSoft never announced it officially, the article writer is just assuming.
@badboy @darckdeth From the site "As the launch date draws nearer, we will have more information to share on price and business models. However NCsoft is actively evaluating what gaming fans in Europe and the United States want, and we are committed to creating a business model that will meet our fans' expectations."
Yes please. Been waiting for another martial arts themed game since I played Jade Empire way back when. Can't wait for more info!
