My goodness has EVERYONE completely forgotten about Project Legacy?? They need to bring it back! Not only was it awesome but they HAVE to because it took up HOURS, nay, MONTHS of my time and I would like for it to count for something lol. Ubisoft just ceased support for it just out of nowhere. I would love for this to be a continuation of that. Especially considering Erudito was a huge part of AC: PL.
Leaked logo reveals connection with Ubisoft Digital Arts, suggesting a new Assassin's Creed tie-in could be on the way.
An image showing the logo of something called Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix has appeared online.
The background of the leaked image (spotted by All Games Beta) shows an environment with the logos for the Erudito Collective, the shadowy organisation seeking to unravel the other shadowy organisation, Abstergo Industries, in the series' present-day storyline.
Text in the corner on the image mentions Ubisoft Digital Arts, which previously worked on live-action Assassin's Creed II tie-in Assassin's Creed: Lineage.
The recently announced Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag features a modern-day storyline where the player takes the role of a researcher at Abstergo, though Ubisoft is staying tight-lipped about specifics.
Assassin's Creed is no stranger to crossing over into books, comics, and animation, with previous work including the animated short Embers and comic series The Fall.
Ubisoft declined to comment when approached by GameSpot.
Ubisoft! Dudes! No one cares about the modern-day stuff! You can make the same games- pirates, colonials, crusaders- without any of that at all. It's really not that big a deal to me that it all be so convoluted and tied together
@RobGrizz Sorry, but I have to disagree. The modernization of it makes playing it all the more worthwhile. i look 4ward to the day the day when they go guns blazing all around the city (we got a brief glimpse of that during the end of ACII I believe when the Assassin's tried to rescue Desmond from Abstergo=> when the Doctor opened the door and you hear gunshots). The modernism is what makes the game AMAZING. The general public would get bored if all there was to do is be a pirate or a colonial. There are plenty of games that do those things. Games sell and become big franchises when they dare to go against the grain and do revolutionary things like Ubisoft has with AC.
@RobGrizz Yes we do.
Ubisoft is just terrible... at keeping their titles under wraps. Lookin forward to the AC3 Steam bundle.
I'll do the same thing I did with the Brotherhood, Revelations and soon AC3, wait a little bit, buy it for $10 on a Steam sale and play through it once. I never saw AC as a must play game to get right at release so I don't mind waiting 6 months to get my hands on it.
Stop whining like little girls, you still don't know if it's a console game, it's 90% to be a live action movie and the other 10% is a handheld game, so quit it with the milking and the early judgment you still don't know a thing -_-
@timdogg42069 pop? AC is miles ahead of pop at the moment
@timdogg42069 Why? What was the last Prince of Persia game you played that was good?
I was starting to believe in Ubisoft as a company to trust but after a few of these iterations, I see they have the same intentions as Activision. At least the other giant, EA, has the guts to create many new IP's and try new things with their current ones.
@BrutalPandaX2 Dude, it is a company and it is business. Once you realize that these things should not bother you. Successful Business 101 tells us if you make a product that does well, keep making it until ppl stop buying it. You do what works and what gives you money to pay those bills until it ceases to do so. Ppl 4get that making games costs a LOT of money. Hundreds of thousands - millions of dollars (including advertising which is not cheep) so why would a company who is doing really well in one or two specific franchises go out and waste thousands of dollars on something they do not think will pay off? This is y many devs (such as BLIZZARD) make one thing well and go years without doing something new. Kind of common sense really. No need to get mad about it, it is just the way of the world. Just say c'est la vie and either go with the flow or do not buy their games. :)
@WolfBladeKK You tell me i don't know what's wrong with these guys...probably trolls, or they are just morons <_<
Those trolls really like to hate "they are milking too hard , omg lol wut?,cow got slaughtered" -_- it is not another game ppl :S
Guys like i said before...CHILL OUT! they aren't stupid to release two freaking games together ..."Text in the corner on the image mentions Ubisoft Digital Arts, which previously worked on live-action Assassin's Creed II tie-in Assassin's Creed: Lineage" so it's a huge possibility that this going to be a live-action movie, or it might be a vita spin-off so stop about the milking and" OMG OMG OMG i can't believe these guys" nobody is dumb enough to do such thing, so i'm sure it's not a game for this gen or next, so chill and grow up sheesh....<_<
I don't think this is for anything but the smartphone or a handheld gaming system. It makes sense considering that AC Liberation was released for the PS Vita the same time ACIII came out. No way this "Rising Pheonix" is for current or next-gen consoles. That said, they're just continuing their annual trend.
@Slinqy Annual trend is pretty much milking now. They've tired this franchise so fast, I liked Brotherhood, then I started Revelations played like 2 hours and quit and have no desire to play 3 at all.
You know, I agree with you. They are rushing the series, especially at this point. I mean, AC4 one year after AC3? That's crazy! But at the same time they have an oppurtunity to fix all the problems that plagued AC3.
No doubt the series started taking a bit of a dive with Revelations, and they dropped the ball with ACIII, but I'm not quite at that point yet where I've lost hope for the series. I think if AC4 turns out like AC3 [bugs, dull main character, mostly boring story], then I'll admit the series is dying. Until then, I have my fingers crossed.
@Slinqy Finally someone who understands
After the complete abysmal letdown known as AC3, my love for the franchise has forever diminished.....
and really, hardly a year later?
@lightrade they already have black flag, how do you know this going to be another game for the consoles ? Avtivision didn't do it and they are the kings of milking, so how do you expect Ubi to release two games back to back on consoles ? if you read the article it says "Text in the corner on the image mentions Ubisoft Digital Arts, which previously worked on live-action Assassin's Creed II tie-in Assassin's Creed: Lineage" so yeah...you are judging too soon <_< :P
@lightrade AC 3 had some of its good points, but it came off as a game that was done already, the naval missions were a lot of fun.. Haytham would have been the better choice to go with as a main character instead of Connor. I did like the weapons in this game, especially the tomahawks and swords as well as the pistols. But story-line was abysmal for an ending. Never felt so screwed over in my life. Once the final 2 DLC parts for Tyranny of King Washington are out, I'll get them for free at least because of the Season Pass. Then it's done with this series. Ezio was better by the way. But the glitches that constantly plague it are hard to get past.
not to mention in the first part of the DLC how the fuck does Connor survive gunshots to the chest and being stabbed by a knife at the end of a musket from Washington himself? Because he's Super John Cena!!!! whoop dee doo!
@lightradeMan, these guys from Ubisoft just gotta be kidding us! This series is already turning into slot machines. If it continues like this, it will end up just like Resident Evil and CoD.
It's like we're the same being.
wait didn't Ac3 just came out last October.. FOr god sake they haven't even releasing all the DLC for it yet and there already new Ac coming out this year. I do hope the new AC doesn't have a stupid animus tie in with it.
@RainIsMyDrug There is black flag coming later this year...how could they possibly announce another one alongside IV? have you thought for a second that this might be a handheld game or more likely a live action movie "Text in the corner on the image mentions Ubisoft Digital Arts, which previously worked on live-action Assassin's Creed II tie-in Assassin's Creed: Lineage"???
Ehhhh this stopped being interesting after AC2, not even CoD is spitting out this many sequels this fast, getting kinda ridiculous lately.
and so AC becomes the next CoD. personally i lost interest after 2 when they had that dumb ancient aliens twist
