Angry Birds Trilogy sells 1 million

Xbox 360, PS3, and 3DS game goes platinum following launch in September; coming to Wii and Wii U in 2013.
The Angry Birds Trilogy for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and 3DS has soared to 1 million in sales since launch in September, publisher Activision announced today. The $40 bundle includes Angry Birds, Angry Birds, and Angry Birds Rio, as well as other new features.
Activision also announced today that Angry Birds Trilogy is coming to Wii and Wii U in 2013. The Wii U version will feature "very intriguing" system-specific features, according to Rovio executive vice president of games Petri Järvilehto.
Separately, Rovio announced this week that it had expanded its global brand advertising team with new senior hires in North America, Europe, and Asia. These new staffers will assist the company in finding major brands interested in using Angry Birds as an advertising platform.
Rovio had a busy 2012. The company released four new games (Angry Birds Space, Amazing Alex, Bad Piggies, and Angry Birds Star Wars) during the year, which also saw the Angry Birds series reach one billion downloads.
In addition, Rovio announced last year that the Angry Birds movie will release in summer 2016, helmed by Iron Man and Despicable Me producers.

I billion downloads was not enough for Rovio that they had to price this package so ridiculously? They should be handing these games out for free at this stage...
I'm just curious. People shell out $40 for this collection but the iPhone versions had receive updated levels since these came out last year. So do these versions receive the same DLC?
Who the hell paid $40 for Angry Birds? I understand a buck but $40? Absurd rip-off. Rovio is money hungry and knows they can take advantage of innocent customers with that IP.

Honestly, I never saw the big deal about Angry Birds. I got sick of it after a few hours of playing. Also, I gotta agree with PlasmaBeam44, It costs a dollar to buy these games on your ipod touch or ipad yet it costs 40 dollars for them on console? Come on.
@SadPSPAddict The game is a fun casual game, but isn't worth $40 (for 3, but that's irrelevant) and isn't suited to ps3/xbox controls. Rovio took a gamble on stupid people buying this instead of getting it on iOS/Android and they won.
@shani_boy101 Well clearly some million people think it is. And having played it on the Xbox and iPad I personally think the Xbox controls are more precise and very well suited. Equally not everyone has a smartphone or tablet so more market coverage that clearly paid off!

2 Like @Suikogaiden I don't hate Anry Birds because it is mainstream. I hate it because it is a ripoff of Crush the Castle on every possible level and has managed to have awful, trial-and-error physics even when using a ready-made physics engine. And I'd like to receive this money from your bet, because no, I have never thought of returning to that crap after the first time I "played" it.

1 Like I bought Angry Birds for my phone 6 months ago for 99 cents. I just finished the game last week. That is the biggest return I have ever had on an investment... other than real money.
1 Like This is what i didn't appreciate with the angry birds trilogy.. If you buy all 3 games on Ios or android device.. if cost no more than $10 or less, but yet still the trilogy cost $30 or $40 on consoles (can't remember totally).. So your telling me license fee for consoles is that much that you have to charge so high..
