I predict that the visual style will probably resemble the new ghost recon game. Also, i dont think it will have aliens in it, unless they do something really REALLY original and cool in how they handle them (which i doubt)
Call of Duty: Future Warfare, Space Warfare, Secret Warfare, and Advanced Warfare domains all locked down by megapublisher.
Activision has this week given a hint to the future direction of its Call of Duty franchise with a number of Web domain registrations. The publisher registered callofdutyfuturewarfare.com, along with callofdutyfuturewarfare2.com and callofdutyfuturewarfare3.com on Tuesday, along with a number of variations on that theme.
The publisher also registered several other "warfare" domains without any Call of Duty branding: spacewarfare2.com, spacewarfare3.com, secretwarfare2.com and secretwarfare3.com. Advancedwarfare2.com, and advancedwarfare3.com were also registered at the same time.
Secretwarfare.com is a preexisting domain, currently registered to an address in Norway unconnected with Activision, while spacewarfare.com and futurewarfare.com remain up for grabs. The domain registrations were first spotted by self-proclaimed "information-sleuthing site" Superannuation.
Domain registrations do not always indicate product names, though often they do serve as an indication of future plans. It is known, however, that there are currently at least four more Call of Duty games in development. There is the recently unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops, being developed World at War studio Treyarch, as well as three as-yet-untitled projects. One is an action adventure title from Sledgehammer Games, another is a project presumed to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at troubled dev house Infinity Ward, and a third is reportedly in development at Raven Software. There is also a massively multiplayer title in the works in Asia, though a developer has yet to be attached to that project.
Activision outlined its expansion plans for the Call of Duty franchise in March, when a new COD business unit was unveiled shortly after the ousting of Infinity Ward's cofounders. The firing of Jason West and Vince Zampella led to at least 35 other resignations from Infinity Ward, with many key staff jumping ship to the two executives' new studio, Respawn Entertainment.
Black ops might just be the last Cod game i buy, seeing that activision is gonna ruin the franchise. Although i need to know the end of Modern Warfare. Darn.
If/when any of those actually come out, I'm just going to stand out on the street, point, and laugh. A lot.
Please don't make another Battlefield 2145 or whatever that misbegotten piece of crap was called. Leave the Science Fiction shooting to franchises that know how to do it like Halo or Dead Space.
COD in space would be pretty cool. All of the world vs aliens or whatever. I think COD would be good if they actually CHANGED something. I wanna fight aliens alongside my Russian, German, Japanese, American, English, Irish, Scottish comrades!
I personally think that Activision should have no rights what-so-ever to the Call of Duty franchise. Call of Duty was made by Infinity Ward, that company has made the best quality CoD titles to date(IMO). Activision abused it's power as Publisher and bullied Infinity Ward during production of their titles, more noticeably with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I hate to see such a great company go down because of the greed of it's Publishers owner. I can't wait until Respawn Entertainment reveals its first title. It will be one of my most anticipated titles. Still tho, I hate to not get a satisfactory conclusion to the Modern Warfare story line due to a less qualified staff developing it, even tho it's still "IWs" staff(minus all the people who left) :/
hmmm.... now COD is going to be dead but people will still play it until they start to think "Why am i playing the same game over and over again but just with a different name?!"
not really sure whether these games will be made, we will have to see,but I don't think future warfare will sell as well as mw3 would. and some people actually would like to see more content in the story of modern warfare, i would have much prefered that to some bad maps
So CoD's in the title just to make the n00bs buy the games... Next is: Call of Duty: Wanker Warfare. You play as Kotick, your weapon's his... I should really shut up. Guess I'll stick with CoD 4 and the older CoD games.Activision needs to die, seriously.Until then, R.I.P CoD.Whatever, hail the Free Man! I almost forgot about Flintstones' Warfare. ... xD
I will never understand why game developers nowadays never know when to stop. Think about it, you might as well stop and save some dignity for yourself before driving yet another franchise into the ground...
All big game title series are doign this- Battlefield series have done past present and future types of the franchise and not call of duty are doing it. Lame. At least they're two totally different franchises.
I hate Activision. They have destroyed a great franchise. My last hope is that MW3 will be a quality game. After MW3 I'm done with COD. IW is the only true COD dev. Activision can go to hell with those other developers. I'm looking forward to seeing what Respawn has in the works.
they already have cod future warfare, its called halo, mass effect, and countless others. at least it would be from i ward instead of garbage treyarch.
@ rahularunmishra I actually think that Guerrilla warfare would be a good idea for a COD game... I bet Respan entertainment makes it because Activision isn't intelligent enough to pick up on good ideas.
I really hate how Activision treated Infinity Ward. It makes me want to boycot their games, but unfortunately I like there games to much. :( I will be pre-ordering the first Respawn game though.
@retroboy333 do you know WHY they're making millions? because "Call of Duty" is an extremely popular title. slap that title on ANY game and you're guaranteed 50 million+ sales.
who the heck said treyarch was going to make this? i really hope this is just some delayed april fools joke. those countless facepalms really seem to be messing up somebody's head.
DONT BUY ANY OF THIS GAMES! be a gamer stay with West and Zampela. Viva Respawn Entertaiment! show activision big corp they cant treat people like they want
Or Call of Duty: Backstaber. Whare Activision stabs Infinity Ward in the back and kicks them out and have Bungie take there place. Its official that Bungie is now workin with Activision. So i asume the rest is true as well. I love Bungie but honestly f*ck u Activision for fiering Invinityward Peopel and stabing htem in the back!
you know there are people at Activision reading some of these comments of peoples suggestions e.g. Call of Duty: Corporate Warfare, Call of Duty: Tee Ball World Championship, Call of Duty: Rick Rolled Warfare etc. etc. and thinking to themselves..."thats not a bad idea..."
Try CoD 69: Gang Warfare, CoD 46: Napoleonic Warfare, CoD 25: Tycoon Warfare! Mind all of you that "they're expanding the business to other GENRES". Milk it until it's dry like a desert. Nice work. I'm pretty sure some guy with mental issues will buy CoD: Century Edition.
Not only does Activision milk their biggest franchises, but EA comes in and publishes a similar game that's better. Tony Hawk, Skate Guitar Hero, Rockband Call of Duty, Battlefield (Medal of Honor reboot?)
I hate Call of Duty, another reason for certain "emotional" individuals to get online, shoot me wit a gun leveled up a million times while i'm a level 3 wit a gun that has nothing on it and talk to me on my headset like i'm a nobody....i would tell him to get a life but maybe he should just kill himself
I don't get why people are complaining. It's up to Activision whether they want to make games or not.
