Though Electronic Arts has a number of Xbox exclusivity deals in place, the publisher has a "very good" relationship with Sony, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau told CVG in a new interview.

Any perception that EA favors the Xbox over the PlayStation is false, Gibeau said.

"We're changing nothing in our policy about being platform-agnostic," Gibeau said. "One of the things that struck me this week is how a tactical deal with one of our platform partners has been blown out and perceived as strategic tilt--that's a messaging error on our part. There is no strategic tilt."

Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall, published through the EA Partners program, will be released only on Xbox consoles, while Battlefield 4 downloadable content will debut first on the Xbox One. In addition, Peggle 2 and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will appear first on Xbox systems.

In addition, all Xbox One preorders in Europe will include a free copy of FIFA 14.

Gibeau added that PlayStation and Xbox are both "very important" to EA and that he would like to see both platforms succeed in the future.

"Sony has been executing exceptionally well on the next-gen transition," he said. "Their hardware's hot, they're clear and disciplined and consistent with their policies, they are showing some amazing things with indies; so overall I couldn't be more pleased with how they're executing."

Finally, Gibeau said, "It's a long cycle, and certainly there's potential with Sony exclusivity deals too."

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox One go head-to-head when both consoles launch in November.
