The final expansion for Call of Duty: Blacks Ops II--titled Apocalypse--is due for release on the Xbox 360 on August 27, but fans of the franchise can check it out early via a special MLG broadcast set for August 24, 6 p.m. EST, according to MLG.

The premiere of Apocalypse will be shown on MLG's website and Twitch channel, and will feature eight MLG pros playing from the company's New York studios. The broadcast will include interviews with Treyarch's David Vonderhaar, a look at the four Apocalypse maps, and more. Participating MLG players include Assass1n, Spacely, Mboze, Methodz, Censor, Mr X, Sectrely, and BLfire.

Apocalypse was first unveiled earlier this month, and is the fourth add-on to Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Apocalypse features four multiplayer maps, two of which--Pod and Frost--are brand new. The other two--Takeoff and Dig--are reimaginings of maps from the original Black Ops and World at War, respectively.

A new Zombies experience, called Origins, is also included with the expansion. It features the Avenged Sevenfold song "Shepherd of Fire" from the band's upcoming album Hail to the King. Origins is described as the "most horrifying and imaginative Zombies experience to date." Players are sent to a Dieselpunk-stylized World War I-era France where they will meet up with the original four heroes from the first Zombies map.

Apocalypse is due for release for the Xbox 360 on August 27 and is scheduled for the PC and PlayStation 3 about a month after its initial release.
