Gran Turismo 6 demo now available
Gran Turismo 6 demo clocks in at 1.1GB and allows players to compete in this year's GT Academy.
The Gran Turismo 6 demo is now available to download on the PlayStation Store, weighing in at approximately 1.1 gigabytes.
The demo takes place on the UK's Silverstone race track, which is new to the series, and lets players drive the Nissan 370Z around five time-trial events--four different chunks of track, and one full lap of Silverstone.
Before entering the time trials, players must progress past a tutorial and four warm-up races in the 370Z and also the Nissan LEAF.
The demo also marks the start of the fifth season of Sony's GT Academy competition, which gives Gran Turismo players the chance to compete in real-life driving events. Players can enter by posting their best Silverstone lap time to the game's leaderboards. This leg of the competition runs until 23:59 BST on July 28, and is open to players across Europe, the US, and Russia.
Any player who clears all five of the time trials with a bronze medal or higher can also unlock an additional Gran Turismo 15th-anniversary event after July 28.
The Gran Turismo 6 demo runs until August 31. The full version of Gran Turismo 6 will be released for the PlayStation 3 later in 2013.
