Michael Bay collaborating on Ghost Recon movie
Ghost Recon joins in-production Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed movies.
Ubisoft has announced that it's working with Michael Bay and Warner Bros. Pictures to produce its feature film based on the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon series of games.
Bay is responsible for directing the Transformers movies, including the upcoming Transformers 4.
Ubisoft launched the Ghost Recon series back in 2001 and has spawned numerous sequels over the last decade. The last title in the series was Ghost Recon Online, which was released for the PC in August 2012.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures was established in 2011 to work on adapting the publisher's IPs into television shows and movies. The studio is also working on an Assassin's Creed movie starring Michael Fassbender, alongside adapting the Splinter Cell series to the silver screen. Tom Hardy is down to play Sam Fisher.
"Having one of Hollywood's boldest feature film directors attached to bringing Ghost Recon to the big screen is a dream come true for us," said Ubisoft Motion Pictures chief executive officer Jean-Julien Baronnet.
