Dead Rising 3 an Xbox One exclusive
Third title in the Dead Rising series will be released this holiday season.
Capcom has announced Dead Rising 3 as an Xbox One exclusive.
The game was unveiled at Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference. Dead Rising 3 is being developed by Capcom Vancouver and will be set three days after a zombie outbreak in the city of Los Perdidos. A bigger, more open world than that seen in Dead Rising 2 and 1 will be a big part of the game.
The game will also make use of Microsoft's SmartGlass, with SmartGlass being used in the demonstration to call down artillery support on a group of zombies.
Weapon crafting and customisation will return from Dead Rising 2, with one weapon shown slicing a zombie vertically after being thrown. Driving also appears to play a more major role than in previous games, due to Dead Rising 3's larger, more-open world.
Capcom adds that there are no loading times when moving around the city.
Dead Rising 3 will be released this holiday season.
The original Dead Rising was launched as an Xbox 360 exclusive in 2006. The sequel, Dead Rising 2, was released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in 2010. A director's cut of the second game, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, was released in 2011.
