LOS ANGELES--An upcoming Japanese action title about a futuristic wasteland overrun by wild animals will see a release in the West, with Sony today confirming Tokyo Jungle is on its way to Europe.

Yes, that's right. There's a game about this.
Yes, that's right. There's a game about this.

The game is set in a deserted, postapocalyptic Japan where wild animals now roam the streets. Lions, tigers, chickens, rabbits, dogs, cats, and so on must all fight for survival, while the game's protagonist, a Pomeranian, is tasked with surviving the journey to find out why humankind has disappeared.

The game will be released on the PlayStation 3 in Japan this week, but Sony made no mention of a Western release during this year's E3.

According to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Tokyo Jungle will see players prowling the streets of Tokyo to hunt and survive while completing a number of different challenges. There are also online ranking leaderboards to compare progress with other players.

Tokyo Jungle currently has a to-be-confirmed release date for Europe, and no other regions have yet been announced.
