The PS Vita launched first in Japan on December 17, with subsequent releases in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea. Most recently, the PS Vita released in North and Latin America, Europe, PAL regions, and Singapore on February 22.

Japanese digital entertainment tracking site Media Create's PS Vita tally through February 19 equaled a little less than 579,000, indicating North America, Europe, Latin America, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Australia combined for about 600,000 system sales.

On top of announcing unit sales of the PS Vita, Sony revealed today that it has sold 2 million PS Vita games at retail and via the PlayStation Network to date. Sony did not reveal which titles sold the most copies, but Sony's Guy Longworth told GameSpot last week that Uncharted: Golden Abyss was the strongest title out of the gate.

Looking ahead, Sony said it currently has 70 titles in development, including the mystery Call of Duty title, which will deploy this fall.
